It wouldn't be a fight with Eve players. It will be a slap fest with a lot of screaming and yelling since we Eve players are mostly Geeks and Dweebs and Nerds. Blink

I have never been to a fan fest; but if I happened to attend, being in a non-player (controlled) corporation, then I would most likely be ignored by the masses and thus drink alone...

...so I save a chunk of money, stay home, and drink with others that do not care about my silly online game.

There's an awful lot of talk about drinking with the devs at EVE fests, but none at all about smoking a joint or two in relaxed atmosphere. Since it is silly to assume that none of the devs attending said player gatherings is a friend of the plant, I propose a fanfest or subsidiary thereof to be planned in Amsterdam, post haste.

Also, I am sure any talk about brawling at RL events would cede immediately if this would happen.

I support this Product and/or Service.. next Fanfest should be in Amsterdam.

It is worth noting that Guard is stood on a 3ft high stepladder for this photo.

Also in the end, this is a game. Someone who would let animosity blossom in the real world over pixels needs to seriously rethink their priorities.

Apologies as I've not met Guard, but if it is as you say allow me to suggest...

Simple equation2:

CCP Guard + CCP Xhagen

Banhammer optional!

The most toxic relations in the game tend to be the ones in nullsec, but if you slap a bunch of nullsec pilots in the same room together they start telling stories and drinking beers together.

Also most Eve players are adults. If you haven't worked out the urge to punch everyone you disagree with by the time you hit your mid 20's odds are you aren't playing from your jail cell anyways.

If you ever attend one of these you'll also notice that not everyone there is a geeky bearded cellar dweller, in fact you might be shocked at the age range that turns up, I know I was when I went along the first time and saw that I was far from the oldest there.

Because those who can attend have money. Those who would spend it have disposable income. Those with that much income to buy a plane ticket; deal with airport security; deal with the long flight; deal with a different culture in Timbuktu...all tend to be older worldly people.

Even in WoW at Blizzcon those that tend to attend their conventions are older.

LOL.
Close enough I guess. But I had always wondered how EVE players are face to face.
I happen to be rather casual player my self, but that's more to do with I can't stand most FCs who like to yell and scream over comms.
I had one that was yelled so I simply said "bet you wouldn't yell at anyone like that face to face"
His response was "I would punch you in the throat" I about fell out of my chair from laughing so damn hard.
But these are the things I ment wasn't talking about the guy who got scammed or who got their ship blown up.

I have run into many people who make empty threats in EVE. I never report them cus I do not see the point and besides my house is pretty well armed.
But I would personally have a hard time if I came face to face with someone at a fangest who told me he would punch me in the throat, it would be really hard not to test him out.
This is not something that is EVE only but I think I have seen more of it in EVE then most other MMOs on the market currently.

Do you really want CCP Guard to beat you up?

Lolwut: "Yes, you kids don't know how lucky you have it. These days noobs get given free tackle ships for PvP but back in the old days the only tackle ships we were given were our pods. We had to use them to bump their rookie ships out of alignment to stop them warping off."

I feel like an oddball.
I am not afraid of physical confrontation, in fact I am actually pretty good at it.
But its extremely hard to anger me.
And I mean VERY hard.

As in Malkin vs Bergeron?

CCP Greyscale: As to starbases, we agree it's pretty terrible, but we don't want to delay the entire release just for this one factor.

Lol.. I guess you have never met a England football fan Big smile

Their only purpose is to fight, football is just an excuse for them. These are not intelligent people.

By Football you really mean Soccer, right?

It's a Goon so the intelligence factor is sort of low brow: Football to Americans = American football. Soccer to Americans = Football outside the USA.
