Hello!

I have seen alot of confusion on the topic wether the faction standings from the final mission in an epic arc is shareable. Some of this misinformation is probably due to the post CCP Dropbear made in July this year. Said post can be found here.

However faction standings ARE despite CCP Dropbear's post still shareable, intended or not. This applies both to the Sisters of EVE and the empire factions lvl 4 epic arcs. I haven't tested any of the pirate arcs myself, but since the others work I will assume these does aswell.

To prove my point I have a series of screenshots confirming that the standings have been shared. Let's go through them:

Case 1: Amarr epic arc, August 2011

The standing reward were shared between myself "Comy 1" and my friend "Raiden Wee". The arc was started by Raiden since Comy's Amarr standings are bad which will also be proven by screenshot.

Raiden's picture will be used for case 2 aswell, since it also proves that he couldn't have started the arc that gave him the newest increase due to cooldown on the epic arc.

Case 2: Amarr epic arc, November 2011

This arc was started by my alt "Diaz Rezal" and were shared with "Raiden Wee". As I just said Raiden's 2nd standing increase in a little over 2 months couldn't have been from him running the arc himself twice.

Case 3: Sisters of EVE epic arc, November 2011

Done by "Comy 1" and shared with "Raiden Wee" once again (why do I keep giving him free standings?).

I hope this is useful for someone, since I hate to see people being mislead due to a misstake made by a dev (I still love you Dropbear). Now go repair your faction standings!

You are one of the people telling me it didn't work, so you clearly won't miss it if they would fix it.

Excellent, thanks. I will revise my advice accordingly and when I am able to get back ingame in a week I will check some of my logs.

So mebbe now I'd be better to advise, at least for arcs, "ISK and corp standings share across fleet. There is conflicting advice and opinion concerning faction standings. Faction standings are supposed not to share across fleets (ref CCP advice), and many people believe that to be the case, but at least in some situations they do get shared between fleet members.".

Have you any idea whether this also applies to storylines?

p.s. Well done 'buttercup' Big smile

I guess I am almost a 'vet' by now. Hopefully not too bitter and managing to help more than I hinder. I build and sell many things, including large collections of bookmarks.

No sorry I don't normally run missions so I have no idea, and I ran my characters that can actually start missions back into my wormhole. This should be alot easier to test than the arcs though.

Storyline standing increases are not shared.

Interesting to say the least.

Obviously this is a new turn of events due to all the supposedly 'Fix it' patches that have been introduced into the game after the 'Agents Made Easy' expansion. I think it's just another one of the many 'Bugs' currently associated with Event Agents.

So, it looks like the Faction standing increase was split 50/50.

If you were to first complete the Arc solo, then Fleeted up with various players or alts for the next 3 months, you would gain much more Faction standing increase than what was originally intended. That could probably be viewed as an exploit. Especially since the level 1 SoE Arc doesn't require any standings to access and could be started with a new alt (Fleeted with main) every few days.

Hmmm, let's see if I have this straight..

Your main character completes the Lv 1 Soe Arc solo and gains +8.75% Faction standing increase. You then create a new alt character once a week to fleet up with main char and gain another +3.50% Faction standing increase per week for the next 3 months. Then start all over again with same Faction or pick a different Faction since the Lv 1 Soe Arc let's you choose between the 4 major Factions.

12 weeks @ +3.50% increase per week for a total of +42.00% Faction standing increase. Plus the original +8.75% would give the main character +50.75% Faction standing increase with no derived effects every 3 months.

My math may not be very good but that definitely sounds like an exploit.

Anyway, thanks for pointing that out.

I agree that this can easilly be exploited. But as I see it it's better to have it in the open to maybe get it fixed if it isn't intended (or atleast giving everyone equal opportunitues) than having a few shady people exploiting the crap out of it.

I'm actually fine with it being fixed if it's unintended, since I was the one that brought it up after all. A game is not better because it's easy.

True. The issue is the action -> consequence relation; epic arcs were advertised as a mean to help with poor faction standings, not be the only and very efficient way to neglect any "bad" choices you might have made, standing wise.
