Lol.. I guess you have never met a England football fan Big smile

Their only purpose is to fight, football is just an excuse for them. These are not intelligent people.

Lets not be racist here. A small percentage want to fight, and the rest want to enjoy a game of football. Unfortunately the few spoil it for the many as is usually the case.

I wasn't aware football fans were a "race". Therefore one cannot be called a racist for saying that these people aren't intelligent.

Well, whatever it was, it was incorrect. Most people who watch football don't go looking for fights. Always there are extremist elements within football fans, and that is not just English football fans. So wrong again.

Pointing out that some people use sports as an excuse to start riots is racist now?

Yeah, some. There are more riots over football than any other game.

I mean EVE is unique in the sense that it truly brings out the worst in people.
EVE is the epitome of every keyboard warrior, trash talker, wanna be tuff guy you could possibly hope to find on the internet.
So how do people not break out into a all out brawl at fanfest?

I believe a fellow named Progodlegend threatened/offered to fight just about everyone there What?

You have to understand that while people will act like total idiots with a screen to hide behind, 99% of them are scared to death of actual physical confrontation. Cool

Because that would then be the very last FanFest.

Especially if fight is at Harpa Center.

I deal with actual physical confrontation in my profession every single day. Most people are capable of seperatiing reality with fantasy & it's those people that you meet at Fanfest... Except for Xenuria, but his parents were at Fanfest to keep him in check.

There is a barrier of entry to getting to the fanfest, of the monetary kind. That leaves the lowest social class where most of the undesirable behaviour arises from out of the race.

This isn't actually me in "Eve mode" (ie: happy to troll) when I say this. If you had said that to my face, this would be my IRL reply.

STFU. What an assumption to make: "poor people are more likely to be dicks". Excuse me? Please retract that statement.

I don't know about others, but me, I'm an adult. Kind of dumb to throw punches over a video game, that's what children do.

I'd be more likely to order a round for my EVE enemies rather than get in any physical altercation. We all share the same interest in this awful spaceship submarine simulator game.

Have been three times at Fanfest and I only met friendly people. Some autistic nerds, but friendly people.

And yes, most people say who they are in game. Typically you use game character and not your real name.

I shall never forget how goons were patting me on the shoulder trying to console me because my alliance went down the drain right when I was in Reykjavik. They are f*cking a**holes in game; --- but cool people in RL.

On the internet, you can be whatever you want to be. It is amazing that so many people chose to be stupid.

Seven Fanfests, and I've never seen a single fight break out between EVE players.

Coupled with that, I can't even count how many player gatherings I've been to, and I've never seen a fight there either.

You might be a terrible pack of trolls who love to murderize eachother in game, but out of game you're really a lovely bunch who're awesome to go drinking with.

In a joking disagreement, we saw plenty of mock wrestling over pub crawl banners. No harm, no fouls, good humor, lets drink and be merry shinanogens. I met folks from all walks of EVE, Goons, PL, Test, WH, Carebear, and surprisingly everyone got along, no slights made, and yes many sat and talked about battles where they were on opposite sides, we laughed and drank. Not good times, GREAT TIMES! Gonna do it again too.

There's an awful lot of talk about drinking with the devs at EVE fests, but none at all about smoking a joint or two in relaxed atmosphere. Since it is silly to assume that none of the devs attending said player gatherings is a friend of the plant, I propose a fanfest or subsidiary thereof to be planned in Amsterdam, post haste.

Also, I am sure any talk about brawling at RL events would cede immediately if this would happen.
