EVE Tutorial missions - current issues

With EVE Online: Odyssey we have noticed issues with three EVE Tutorial missions. These issues will be fixed as soon as possible, but unfortunately that fix cannot be deployed before JulyJune 18th, 2013.


Mission names
Balancing the Books (4 of 10)
Data Site Scanning
Issue
This mission involves a mini game play through, and if that is successful, a mini container will pop out of the container you're hacking into. You simply need to left-click on this container to obtain the items, but note, the container is only in space for a short period.
Solution
If you fail to loot this container, you might be able to play the mini game again. If you are not, then please file a support ticket and customer support will reset the mission for you.

This mission cannot be completed without customer support intervention.
Solution
Please file a support ticket for assistance if stuck on this mission.

Update on June 18:
The above mentioned issues got resolved with the deployment of EVE Odyssey 1.0.7 (full patch notes are available here: Patch notes For EVE Online: Odyssey)

I completed this mission 3 times in the last 48hrs without issue.

Well, yes, its a long weekend here in Iceland, 17th is the national independence day and well, a or rather the national holiday. Have some sympathy Twisted

I guess normal maintenance continues but patch work gets postponed. I ll be working though, sux to be independent oh, what irony°°.

Otherwise I did not have any problems either, but I was surprised I could not 'open' the container, there was no command option available, the loot just appeared in my cargo when I did it. Maybe it doe snot always happen.

Man, you guys have it easy when a national holiday on the 17th of June goes all the way to the 18th of July ...

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

My guess, its a type-o on their part in this case though. 18th July is something I might expect from blizzard°°

For the record: when Odyssey was deployed, I was just in the process of doing all the Caldari carreer quest-lines(18). Then ran into trouble with balancing the Books (4 of 10) and other issues.
I have submitted a bug report and also had this issue resolved twice, by filing a ticket for support by the very helpful GMs. After resetting the questline the mission could be completed without issue, for a substantial gain in faction standings, I might add.

My SUSPICION is that missions which were offered prior to Odyssey still triggered the old tutorials which didn't work any longer. Similarly how the tutorials still rewarded the old "Destroyers" - Skillbooks, which already has been fixed. Happened to me, too.
Similarly to how the Exloration career mission demanded that I probe down "Ore-Sites" even though gravimetric sites have been removed. This mission also was broken by Odyssey, (because?) it was in the "OFFERED" by the Agent state, when Odyssey was Deployed. This also happed to me.

Perhaps a fix isn't really necessary now that there are unlikely to be any more people with outstanding older questlines.
Simply resetting tutorial offers might possibly do the trick.

Oh man that was a pain. Me being a brand new player with no clue scanning for 5h straight to find that ore. Found a wormhole though...

I just went back and reran the tutorials as well; the only incongruity I experienced was that the hacking tutorial worked the new Odyssey way (with the minigame), while the archaeology/relic tutorial worked the old way (approach node, activate module, demonstrate patience, receive bacon).

It's good to know that there are problems. I was planning to do them now on an alt but, since I know there are problems with these missions at the moment, I can wait until they are fixed instead of being frustrated by them. Many companies hide or don't acknowledge bugs so, this is a nice change. Good work CCP Phantom!

Um, you mentioned issues with 3 different tutorial missions yet you only posted 2 of them.

Gonna split hairs here but I thought Aura NPE gave the Tutorial mission series while the other starter missions were known as Career missions. Guess they can all be considered Tutorial.

Actually, "Data Site Scanning" is from the exploration agent, and not a part of the business tutorial, so there is indeed 3 missions posted.

Who's the one with the short memory now? ;)

Do you have any plans to put something in game to notify new players trying to get through the tutorial of these issues? I know there is a line at the top of Rookie Help about the 4 of 10 problem but that channel is very active and it scrolls off the screen before most people will ever see it.

Getting through the tutorial right now is quite frustrating.

And to top it all off the market wasn't available this morning in the tutorial system for the Royal Amarr Institute. Cry

I had to file a petition today for exactly this problem..

The problem is that the check mark to visit the system listed in the mission will not check off even if you have teh data core in your ship or station inventory.

For me, the mission was given to me in the same Caldari system I had to "visit".. and no, warping to another system and back didn't help either.
