If you are particularly keen on getting storyline missions from Joint Harvesting, start by looking at Joint Harvesting storyline agents. From there, look for agents you can run missions for that are close to those storyline agents.

As an example, you might look at the system for each agent down that list to see if there are other agents in that system who will give you missions that you are interested in. Note that you will get storyline missions from the Joint Harvesting agents if you complete regular missions for Amarr-aligned agents nearby.

Check an agent finder service for storyline agent in the corp, then check for regular agent nearby that's the same level as your Distribution agent.

Since you're doing missions for a Distribution agent (Courier), the nearest regular agent to the Joint Harvesting storyline agent might be a Security or Mining Agent.

If so, then do 15 missions for your Distribution agent, then travel to the other regular agent (same level) and do the 16th mission. You'll then get the storyline mission offer from Joint Harvesting corp. After completing that, go back to the Distribution agent and do another 15 missions, travel back to the other agent for the 16th mission, get storyline, repeat, etc.

To check on amount of regular missions completed:

Open character sheet - standings section - 'Liked by' tab - right click on the corporation and select 'show transactions'. You'll get a list of missions showing name and date. That list will also show storyline missions from that corp.

To check which mission is storyline:

Same as above except right click on the Faction and 'show transactions'. That list will only show storyline missions. Cross reference name and date of most recent storyline mission completed to the list of corporation transactions. Then you'll know how many regular missions are left to complete for next storyline.

Hope this helps, good luck.

I think I understand basically how the agent / division / storyline system works. My problem is that I tried to find a setup that would give me a nice chain of distribution missions to run, but the "Storyline - Distribution" agent that is closest to me keeps giving out the exact same faction outpost kill mission every cycle of 16 that I complete. This is really annoying since the entire point of picking the system I did was to get one where the storyline agent was in the "Distribution" division, which I assumed meant he would give "distribution" missions (i.e. couriers, not combat).

This hasn't been a huge problem so far, since I'm running level 2 couriers in my cruisers anyway, and I can do level 2 kill missions without much trouble. It's going to be a big problem if they keep giving me these at level III/IV though, since I am months away from starting my combat skills and ships training plan. The character I am running now is focusing on trade and hauling for the near term, and I only started doing couriers to get some faction standing up to improve the haircut on trading. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense that I'm forced into combat missions for the story lines, when I've gone dozens of jumps out of my way to find a system with appropriate distribution primary agents, paired with a "Storyline - Distribution" agent in the same system (the only storyline agent in the system, as well).

Supposedly the Storyline Agents have a random pool of various types of missions available. I don't think the Division title actually means anything with Storyline Agents.

Anyway, the reason that's usually stated is that it's random and you're just having some bad luck.

Now for some conjecture, it almost seems like Storyline Agents will offer missions that are opposite to what is normally offered and accepted in the preceding regular 16 missions.

In other words, complete 16 courier missions for regular agent, storyline agent offers you encounter mission. Complete 16 encounter missions, storyline agent offers you courier mission.

As for Mining missions, those tend to have a mix of both courier and encounter attributes mixed in which would make the storyline mission offers random.

It's probably not that complex, the storyline mission that's offered could just be opposite of the very last regular mission completed.

Has there ever been an "official" explanation for why it can't just do what it says on the tin? (i.e., if it's a "Distribution" storyline agent, what is the problem with having him just give courier story lines only?) I can actually see this being more annoying in the reverse situation; where I've done 16 combat missions in my shiny BC, then my "Storyline - Security" contact drops a Level IV courier on me which requires me to move 40,000 m3 of Raggy Dolls 12 jumps across the region. I'm just not sure I see the point of the randomness, especially since the story line agents are advertised as being in certain divisions like the normal ones.

some ccp dev posted and said that yes storyline agents dont give out according to the division yet due to the limited amount of storylines and it is something they want to fix in the future.. or something to that effect.

That's good to know. Thanks.
