Yes, since 2011 I believe. Now if we reverted that change for cruise missiles only.

If we gave each black ops a bonus to their racial damage type and made them all missile boats, I'd consider this as a black ops buff only.

It's an interesting idea and could make Black Ops ships a bit more useful. They'd be extremely boring for the people flying them though. With max skills, I guess they'd be getting about 1 volley per minute without TiDi.

No way to detect cloaked ships, you just pew pew at will, and it only helps missile boats... screwing over the gallente and amarr?

Sure, you could see where the missiles came from... and send an interceptor in the general direction... but for a cloaked ship travelling ≈200 m/s (like a blackops) firing from 150 km away... good luck

What would this even accomplish?
Why would you want this?

You claim it would be risk-free pvp, but you'd still be giving away your location because people can see where the missiles are coming from. One fast tackle can decloak you easily.

It would require a fundamental change in game mechanics; right now, you can't even lock a target when you're cloaked - one of the bits of game balance they put in, along with the locking delay the cloak imposes on ships that aren't optimized for covert ops. I suppose you could use auto-targeting cruise missiles, but I don't know of anyone who loads FOF's as anything other than a desperation move when they're hopelessly jammed out.

And there are enough other ways to deny a combatant the ability to fight back, without denying them the ability to even see who's shooting at them.
