Make mining ships invisible to local channel

Noone seems to be mining in 0.0 space nowadays and I know why. Miner needs to sit in one place for a long time and chance for PC pirate appearing and destroying you is near 100% in one day. Part of reason is that mining people are visible in local channel.

Im suggesting that mining ships have invisibility to local chat. It would be ship based bonus.

It is blatant faggotry like this that makes it so that carebears have no credibility in anything they suggest or propose. You want an invisible ship, get a Covert Ops, Stealth Bomber, Recon or Black Ops. Miners are by nature large, slow-moving INDUSTRIAL vessels which have limited powergrid/CPU that are utilized to power strip miners/ice harvesters, et cetera. There is absolutely no reason why mining ships need to be invisible on local other than to prevent the big scary pirates from coming and tossing your ore boat around like a beach ball.

You want to stop dying? Stop flying something that screams "SHOOT ME!"

Seriously.

No.

Take a look at this

A decoy system that lets you disguise your ship type. So your mining barges can look like a different ship on dscan. Not complete invisibility, but should make it easier.

Removing local (or just parts of it) only helps the attacker, since he knows where to look for miners (or ratters) because they just have to be in anomalies, complexes or belts, hidden or not.

Agreed, it'd only result in more mining ship ganking as it'd just give them false sense of security.

I like this idea. Put on 1 crappy mining laser...and voila its a mining ship. Fleets of 200 ships disappear just like that.

Not many mine in 0.0 because the isk per hour is not there. First you have to mine. Then you have to rorq/jf it to a minmatar station in alliance or npc space to get a good refine rate. Then you have to jump/fly out to empire for sale. Or you make tons of 425 I rail guns. And have to train manufacturing high to get every ounce of ore you can moved this way. Oh and someone needs high refine on the other end if not looking to dump 500K of 425 I's in a bulk deal.

Or you can rat your ass off, melt off the crap loot, or farm hauler spawns and get lots of ore. Hauler spawns preferred...its preprocesssed ore, don't even give a cut to corp/alliance with the refine tax at station. Its a trit hauler...3 million trit jsut like that.

Or remove local as said already. The hac roam can't see you...you can't see the hac roam. Fair and even for all.

Hmm, I can see the benefit of this only if covert ops and other cloaky are also removed from local. This could make it almost like wormhole space for miners. D-scan and probes are used as well as belt bookmarks to find ships.

Knowing the miners are there and not docked would be more complex and require the "pirate pilots" to actually work to find their targets. It may just work. Not sure if being invisible to local as a non-cloaked ship would make sense, but could give miners the edge they need to survive in hostile territory. I suppose this could also appear over-powered so still not sure about this idea.

umadbro? it is an idea... change happens, get used to it. Notice, he said not invisible... but you have to use your d-scan or probes or bookmarks to belts. Do you know how to use those? Oh wait, that is extra work... you seem to only want to whine, so here is some cheese.

Alright, enough trolling. Seriously, think about it. Who provides your ships for you? Whether it is an NPC corp seeding your ship or a pilot, in order for you to fly/die in a ship, it must be produced by someone. You may even make your own... point is all the ships designs/blueprints/etc. that CCP puts in the game are there for a reason.
