Silent auction has started!

As of 00:01 UTC of June 12th, we are accepting bids into the silent auction!

Head on over here to read the details of how this goes down!

In order to maintain credibility I will refrain from using a "ALL UR PLEX R BLONG TOME"- type cliche jokes, but I do so begrudgingly. Professionalism is hard.

Oh yes, by the way. This means that alliances that did not sign up for the random draw can still enter the silent auction. Remember that you are effectively 5 PLEX behind the teams that did sign up for the random draw.

So being an annoying rules lawyer am I correct in my interpretation that goons can bid 1 plex in the silent auction since they weren't in the random draw ?

I on the other hand must bid a minimum of 6 since otherwise there wouldn't be a contract ;O

It is rather a case of them having to match your bid of 5 in order to have a chance in the first place.

Does it need to be the CEO of the executor corp, or will a director suffice?

To quote the rules blog:

"The only eligible bidders in the silent auction will be the CEO of the alliance executor corporation and the Team Captain as nominated in the sign up page."

you're saying everyone in the random draw automatically has a bid in the silent auction ?
That kinda contradicts previous statement that one has to send an evemail and make a contract (making the minimum 6 for someone in the random draw not 5 (assuming you can't do a zero plex contract anyways), and 1 for alliances not in the random draw

I assume it means if the teams in the draw dont send a higher bid their bid is considered to be 5 PLEX. Why any of them would do that instead of going to 6-7 (a trivial increase) and at least give themselves a chance I dont know. Realistically I would be extremely surprised if someone got in with such a low bid.

So, are we bidding for one of all 32 slots and the winners will be the 32 alliances that offered the most PLEX or do we have to select specific slot?

Is this a sealed or a silent auction? A silent auction allows the current high bids to be seen and allows re-bids. A sealed auction allows only one bid that nobody else can see.

Now is there a good reason your likely to screw some of the teams that took the time to enter by the cut off for the random draw? Honestly ccp this is a ****** move you set a deadline for the draw but then you open the silent auction to anyone. If they didn't care to meet the deadline why should they even have a chance of getting in? Not only does my alts team have to compete against the others from the draw now we have to worry about some bored alliance with tomuch isk that didn't plan ahead just coming in and dumping a crap ton of plexs to grab a spot. Again crappy move CCP should only be open to those that planed ahead for the random draw.

EDIT: Besides just possibly eatting more plex form market that is.

I doubt many teams will enter the auction that didnt enter the draw, that makes little sense. Allowing those who forgot *cough* goons *cough* doesnt change much. The Anger of the poster above is both misplaced and amusing.

RvB has sold all the rifters and entered a bid :D

and do tell why its misplaced? my team took the time and effort to enter by the DEADLINE because we assumed a deadline was a deadline.

reading back on this the sign up page was for the deadline so if a team didn't enter by then how can they enter the silent draw? by your own rules only those that entered in time for the draw can be in the silent auction or is this being bent so a few alliances ccp would like "goons" can sign up after the fact?
