Windows 8 simply won't load

I am trying to run eve on my windows 8 laptop (so I can get some stuff done at work :P) but it flat out won't load.

No "Will not respond" prompts, no freezing, nothing, just a quick loading wheel then no response.

I have tried compatibility mode for 7, vista and xp and I have also tried the .exe instead of the shortcut as well as the safe mode .exe. ALSO I have ran the repair tool and restarted my computer multiple times.

I am out of ideas. Halp me internets!

Same thing here. I know Windows 8 isn't officially supported so I am not really expecting a speedy resolution.

Launch game via desktop icon- nothing
Launch game via EVE application in Program Files x86 folders- nothing
Launch game via /bin/exefile- nothing

Launch launcher- nothing

Run repair tool- can't find the temp folder
Uninstall- can't find the temp folder

The frustrating thing is I have heard of people running it on windows 8. :/

Had the same thing happening when I by mistake closed the launcher when It was updating and after that nothing would happen. I got around this by manually downloading and installing the launcher from https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=238230&find=unread and then it updated itself after which everything sarted working (except for my cpu usage going up to 100% when gameclient is on but have a feeling its something I dont have up to date that is causing that).

Might be this dosnt help but worth a shot right?

I went to the download link he provided and it worked! Had a little hiccup with direct x but I restarted my comp and I am up and running! Thank you kind sir!!!!!!
