Drake Veritas Issue.

Uses turrets instead of missiles.
One turret. With a massive damage bonus.
No skill bonuses.
No drone bay.

Any server optimizations I'm missing?

Really low rate of fire as well. Ammoless. Removes all skillpoints and books upon loss.

thanks for all your effort veritas, I am very impressed, it sounds like a really smart way around it and a lot of effort to combine the system full/pos pw mechanics, but we all appreciate it and it's a huge milestone for AT and its future

Looking forward to hearing about any ETAs on when we will have access

Earliest will be after the completion of the silent auction. Might take us some time after to sort things out we'll see.

Ok all ATX medals have now been handed out. We gave them to the pilots who participated in the final matches for their teams, dropped in their hangar in their home station.

Because we didn't have a third place match, both of the semi-final losers got Bronze Medals.

Any chance for those of us who didnt play in the final match but did participate in earlier ones to get medals as well? I dont want to make too much extra effort of looking through the whole tournament for every pilot who flew on the 4 teams, but it would be nice Big smile

So... Important question 3% bonuses or Cybernetics 3? There is a slight difference here.

"By limiting hardwiring implants to +3% bonuses"

Though I do remember reading another blog that said cyber III. I'd go with 3%.

Genolution "CA-" implants are NOT allowed.

With the exception of leadership Mindlinks, only Hardwirings that have a name ending in "1", "2" or "3" are allowed.

Its interesting that you limit use of implants, but have no limits for usage of unique ships that cost much-much more isk per ship and give much more than a slight advantage, for AT cost of a mere hac / logistic (for example). It seems for me, that you should consider raising cost for them in points, unless ofcourse you really mean to make AT more affordable for newcomers.

For exaple imagine i ban basilisk and scimitar - only to get etana, and we have seen vangels as a substitute for heavy missile based setup (tengu, drake). not only these ships are more powerfull than other hacs, but they also have some traits from recons, which cost 1 more point. I would hate to see some new and promicing teams oblitirated not becouse they was outplayed, but becouse they can not afford to bring exclusive toys to the arena.

And really nice job on special server and closed systems for alliances.

do the teams get to name themselves or is it just "IX: Pandemic Legion" etc

All four races have had their time in the prize sun I believe so anything goes.

Will you keep pummeling your feet with the shotgun and create nauseatingly OP prize hulls that never see the light of day or will you do the 'fun' thing and create a navy special issue kind of deal that is roughly on par with pirate hulls but with 100 units to winners so they actually get to go poof ?

Or better still, do the special issue navy thing but give it as a BPO with hefty negative PE/ME values and atrocious build/copy times.
Hand it out at the tournament grounds, recreate any ships they lost in last fight and teleport winners to one of nearest systems (their choice of multiple to avoid the obvious) .. let their winning config fend for itself trying to defend the BPO while making their way home.
- Should yield a Titan death if nothing else as they suicide one to bridge the BPO home .. hahahaha.

In short: Don't be daft. Tournament is a blood sport not a daisy painting contest so the prizes ought to be capable bloodletters, but not so strong and thus few in numbers as to be collectors items from the get go. The best stuff on ones mantle is not the unique one-off item, but the surviving member of a larger batch .. that has story attached beyond the ravings of a lunatic artist, and Eve is supposedly a story in the telling (or is that only when it suits you? Smile)

It is an alliance tournament, so it would only really be proper that the name of the alliance who won the tournament goes on the cup

let us say that, just speculating here, an alliance known for its incompetence at the tourney forgot to sign up and missed the drawing

are they eligible for participating in the auction or are they completely out

If such a case were to hypothetically happen, said alliance would not be excluded from participating in the auction.

To make that clear:

All alliances are able to participate in the silent auction regardless of if they were signed up for the random draw.

Submit all bids to CCP Gargant.

A bid is accepted when CCP Gargant has an Eve-mail from the executor of the alliance and has a personal contract assigned to him with the PLEX of the bid. Teams who did sign up for the draw should contract five fewer PLEX than their bid to account for the PLEX that were reverse-redeemed during signup for the draw.

+1, that would be a very inappropriate engraving for IX, it's not the cup of quarter-final knock-outs (see also: match with full passion commentary)

What happens, if someone with deep pockets decides to meta-game this ad-hoc rule ?

Let's assume following scenario:
- someone (an alliance) has a great interest in winning the tournament
- the same subject has a very deep pockets (trillions of ISK)
- this alliance decides it would be good to eliminate part of potential opposition before the actual tournament begins
- they will use a white horse(-s) to put a bid into the auction (alt-alliances, or former and now dormant alliances, or simply some friendly alliances)
- they will pay for the white horse's bid
- the bid will be higher than the estimated bid average
- the white horse(s) will have no intention to actually fight in the tournament, and either will simply not show in their fights, or will bring a mock fleet
- the white horses will get eliminated during the first weekend

I'm not saying that this is a likely scenario, but you never know - meta has been always a big part of AT.

Is this what you really wanted, or a simple oversight of a possibility ? How will you deal with such a situation if it happens ?

I don't like this rule change. I'm pretty sure, that anyone who is serious about the tournament has signed up in time (sorry Goons, you should've made sure that Warr Akini did his job), and there is no reason to open the auction for anyone now, other than trying to extract more value from the teams who have not been successful in the initial draw.

Meh ...
