I'm on my work computer, trying to get EVE to work to get me through these 17 hour shifts of nothingness, but EVE will not work on this computer for some reason. I tried pre- odyssey, gave up, then came back to trying after the Odyssey xpac hit hoping it would work then.. Nope.

Basically I download and install the game, open the launcher, which seems to patch and everything, enter my info, but when I hit play, nothing really happens. The little EVE icon will pop up at the bottom of the screen, but that's all. The client never loads and after a minute or so the icon will when moused over will say Eve Not Responding. If I click on the icon, obviously nothing happens.

I have downloaded and installed the game I would say, oh, 8-9 times. Ive gone in to the launcher and cleared the cache's (both), tried to load in EVE safe mode, gone in to the bin folder and gone to the .exe and set it to different compatibility modes, Ive run the repair tool I have no idea how many times, the game simply will not load. Ive tried bypassing the launcher.. It all results in the same behavior. Ive added exceptions to the firewall and Ive totally turned off Windows Firewall.

This computer is crap, don't get me wrong, but since I can run EVE (terribly, but it will open) on a computer with less than half the cpu/ram this box has, I would think it would work, even if it only works poorly. This comp can and does, play League of Legends (poorly, but it plays it) and a friend has played WoW on it before, again, poorly, but it does play.

ANY help would be appreciated. Ive searched for fixes ad you'd imagine, but nothing has worked yet.,

Comp specs:

6gig ddr
Pentium Dual-Core E5400 2.7
Win7 Home Premium
Intel G33/31 Xpress Chipset (I realize how bad this is.. but it'll run WoW/LoL).. Is this the issue?

Thanks guys, any suggestions would be great. I work two 17 hour shifts a week and I could use me some EVE to fill the hours.

The same problem. Launcher shows up, he log on, hits the "Play" button and then nothing happen and the game freezes. We tried everything to get it work.

1) Reinstalling the game
2) Repair
3) Installing from steam
4) Deleting cache
5) Trying to start it via BIN
6) Some guides on every forum we could find.

But nothing helped. We are going to be really hopeless. If anyone knows some help, we would be very grateful, he wants to start playing EVE but he cant.

I am also getting this same problem. However, it may be because I wanted to see what happens if I ran EVE on a netbook....

But I honestly don't think this should be happening, since this issue happens on decent computers too, like the post above.

Are you able to play the game by running ExeFile.exe directly?

So i tried to walk through the forums and ecnountered similar problems. So i tried few tips and nothing worked. We tried this:

1) Installing EVE from CCP
2) InstallingEVE from Steam
3) Repair .. we tried repair about 5 times
4) Deleting cache
5) Turning off firewall
6) Starting EVE via BIN
7) Starting EVE from exeFile.exe
8) Starting EVE from safemod
9) Starting EVE from Administrator account
10) Starting EVE from newly created user
11) Trying starting EVE about 5 times, just in case

Nothing helped, we are getting really confused. Any more hints? Sad

I am having the same problem, however in my case the game was working fine earlier this evening.

I have tried the repair tool and a fresh install, have also checked network and firewall settings, all appears to be in order.

Launcher works fine, allows me to log in to several different accounts no trouble, however when i click play the client starts up and then crashes before the window is displayed.

EVE (Not Responding)

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I seem to have this problem too:

I run the Launcher, login, hit play.. it spins for a while then stops.
Task Manager says EXEFILE.EXE is running still. No joy, no error messages

My setup

Windows 7, SLI setup (2x NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 480)
12Gb RAM
DX 11

This is a new install of Eve Odyssey

I've tried to run EXEFILE.EXE directly

I've reinstalled SEVERAL times!!!

I've used the local mode installation.

I've run repair many times, I've deleted the Launcher Cache and COMMON.INI
There are no errors on the repair log

blah blah

I've tried this all many times. I don't get error messages, it just stops.

EDIT: I tried one more thing too: ran EXEFILE.EXE from CMD window with --? option (verbose?) the ONLY error I have seen so far says:

Network layer using: CarbonIO
EVE Client version 8.31 build 590158 starting 08/24/2013 22:06:18
Starting up Trinity through _trinity_dx9_deploy ...
Cerberus localization module loaded on client
An exception has occurred. It has been logged in the log server as exception #1

Forgot to mention: I can login to Odyssey just fine on my MAC :)

I have the same problem. I've tried everything now, repair tool, clear cache, even a fresh install of the game. The fresh install started up once. I went to try and open a second client and it started giving me the error again, now it won't open at all *sigh.

Edit: Okay i found the issue. Turns out ccpexe will fail to open if i have mumble open already... Weird...

I find I get the blackscreen everytime I try to logon, tried clearing cache tried reinstalling and changing resolution.
Finally figured out in launcher setting switched it to dx 9 instead of 11 and it worked. for some reason it will not run in dx11.

Yes, you've connected your client to the test server, and updated to the latest development version of the EVE Launcher (which has the DX11 enabling commands) and then switched back to TQ. This means your TQ client is being told to run in DX11 mode, which fails (since all the code isn't in place) leaving your EVE Client in an unresponsive state.

The fix is, as you deduced, to go into the EVE Launcher settings and to change the DirectX value to dx9. Your EVE Client will then start up as normal.

Additionally, using one client for both Singularity and Tranquility isn't recommended, for precisely these reasons. Smile

I had the same problem on both my laptop and desktop, it was the same DX11 problem.

Thanks for the help guys, I managed to get it fixed with minimal training left on the char i was aiming to add to.

Cheers
