anyone have any tips for the new probing system? I use to use the standered 6-7 probe "triangulation" method, but this 8th probe is throwing me all outa wack.

There's a button in there somewhere that will put the 8 probes in a geometrically close to perfect formation. It's even called "pinpoint formation".

Use that.

Place pinpoint cluster over dot > decrease size until hit.

Pinpoint does not scale though, meaning I have to do it manually, and that's where that that 8th probe gets me, making the 5 "Middle" probes form a start instead of the Cross/plus I normally work with.

Don't use shift/alt when you resize/move the probes.

No, what I mean is, over 4 AU, there is too much over lapping, and under 4AU, there is none, you have to readjust everytime you rescan.

Dont change range in the window, manual drag the range sphere smaller.

Really? I'm not having that same problem...
So your probes won't resize correctly when you reposition them?

Edit: Perhaps what guy above me said.

I like to lick things.

Don't hold shift or alt.
Only click on the edge of one of the spheres once you have selected pinpoint probe setting.
Then while holding your click move in/out to scale propperly.
