What do people think of the idea of a sort of afk camera pan thing... similar to what happens in fallout where if you're afk for a certain period it starts to pan the camera. Like... if you're in space for a certain time it starts to focus on the different (new) nebulae with information about it? maybe it could be extended to different things on grid with you etc... It could come up with an overlay like you see in the chaos theory trailer with information about what the camera's looking at...

opinions?

Edit: was the butterfly effect trailer: Trailer

While would be interesting, at this time the development code time is truely needed elsewhere. The events of this summer showed that there needs to be a focus back on unified eve game play over tidbit features.

To quote Lfod Shi

The ratting itself is PvE. Getting away with it is PvP.

Meh... why?

The only reason I see for something like that is not to have the same image on screen for an extended period of time. But that's what screen blankers are for.

because I'd say it increases immersion... it'd give ccp a chance to test out that new UI they've been harpind on about since the butterfly effect trailer.

Maybe just add a "Cinematic View".
- Focus random objects
- Watch your ship from another objects (roid, ship, station, etc...)

Wouldn't that be cool for miners?

sortof a mining buff I guess :) well... it is a kind of nothing feature I'll say that, but it shouldn't really take that long to implement and I think a lot of people'd appreciate it i think.

I have mixed thoughts....

I think it could be fairly cool....

At the same point in time, when i put eyes in a neighboring system, I often focus the camera on a gate, so the gate flash catches my attention. I would find the camera moving about like this mildly irritating.

But that could easily be solved by allowing the feature to be turned off in the settings menu.

So, I could get behind this idea, its very low priority however.

Yep... could make an exception for the cinematic view saying like... If camera has a set focus or parent then it shouldn't be enabled.

There is no need for this, and it would be a waste of the Dev's time.
