Training point Reset.

I have played this game for a long time and i enjoy it very much. With all the changes made over the years it has encumbered certain ships that i have trained for and pretty much made them useless for the reason that i trained them for. My suggestion to that would be a full skill reset for anyone who has played for more than three years. certain ships do not even come close to what they used to be. along with equipment and gear that was not available at the time we started playing.

How about a little balancing of our old characters here to compensate for all of the changes made over the years. I for one would gladly pay a plex to reset my skill tree and redistribute all those useless points to areas i could benefit from their distribution. I am also sure others would agree with this, and some would say no way but it is the only fair way to let us take back points that we would not have put in our characters in the first place if the game was made this way 5 years ago.

Thanks for your time and i hope this occurs.

The "hell no" camp is vocal on this one. I'm generally part of it.

Why should a veteran be able to train for whatever he wants instantly? Why not just slog it out, roll with the changes, and generally be nerf-proof the way only a long-term character can? Why should new players have to train in a single direction when older players can just leap on the flavor of the year and instantly be maxed on any given play style? And really, if you have an entirely bad character, why not try to sell it to someone who would value it and pick one up more to your liking?

It would defeat the purpose of remaps, you could never catch up to vets, flavor of the month would reign.

This will never happen because our little chaotic sandbox would turn into an orderly boring and very predictable swing set.

Something clever

Not empty quoting.

Also: This topic has been gone over many many many times already. So could you OP please explain, in detail, why, exactly, you felt the compelling need to make another thread about it? Enquiring minds want to know.

Honestly if you have been playing the game for years, and the skill changes over the last year or so have made your character unplayable something is very wrong. You should still have all your core skills not to mention the ability to fly at every BC or lower tech 1 ship in the game. (If you didn't raise BC to 5 I have no sympathy for you.) Yeah maybe you have a Battleship skill at 5 for carriers, a lot of mining skills for Orcas, and a Indy skill at 5 for a freighter, but those skills are still useful. Battleship V was a pain to train up for carriers, but it's still useful flying Battleships, and for t2s. Personally I'm happy I don't need to train Battleships to V twice more to get access to all caps in the game.

I agree with everyone else in saying skill point remap is a HELL NO!

But, with that I always like to voice my opinion on REMOVAL OF UNWANTED SKILLS.

CCP should charge a PLEX so that you can clean up your skill sheet of unused or no longer used skills.

I DO NOT want skill points or cost of the skill books reimbursed.

So people will say, that is just OCD, get over it.

My reply is it does not give me any advantage over other people to remove skills I do not want on my skill sheet,

so you can STFU!

I agree with the OP and give my reasons thus.

You buy a character and as with many things, it is not 100% perfect with YOUR requirements. Answer: Remap the skills
If there is any "HELL NO" replies to that then why do we have the sale of characters?

Another reason: You develop a multi-toon strategy (as you really CANNOT play this game without multiple toons). Your strategy changes and evolves with time and you switch skills - some skills become obsolete for that toon and it would be ideal to re-map.
This is the main reason I agree with this thread, I have a pvp main that has several useless industrial skills that I would love to re-map.

So its a big +1 from me

I am aware of my own ignorance and have checked my emotional quotient - thanks for asking

I would love this but instead of using a plex to reset ALL sps how about this:

You can only reset a section of skills such as industry or gunnery or electronics. This would cost you a respec point(or multiple respec points). You could do this once per year then instead of every FOTM

If you buy a character, then you buy it's history. This includes the corps it's been involved in, the scams it may have been involved in and the skill set it has. The sale of characters happens, because CCP allows it as it doesn't bypass those consequences.

The only real guarantee of a perfect character, is to train it yourself when you know exactly what you want. But if you are buying one then keep looking. If you don't like the skill set one has, then don't buy it.

The beauty with this game is it doesn't limit you to a class. If at any time you change your mind and wish to go in another direction, then simply train the skills.

I'll leave you with this quote, that states all the reasons it's a bad idea.
