Thorax "go to" blaster fit?

I love the Thorax but I'd like some input on what would be an optimal blaster fit for pvp. Thanks for any input.

There is no 'go to' optimal fit in my opinion, it depends on many factors, I like dual prop with + scram + web with armor and Electrons as it gives you plenty of maneuverability in scram range and the ability to escape if things aren't going well for you. However the armor slows you down so you'll have more trouble actually catching fast targets, you can also go shield with full tackle for max speed to catch stuff but then you're susceptible to being kept at the edge of scram by faster ships and you're also pretty much committed to the fight till either of you is dead or the target might escape if it's significantly faster.

I understand, I meant it more as of general fit that I could tinker with. Say you didn't need a scrambler since you had dedicated fleet mates to do it, what would use instead? Drones obviously would do some dps from targets that were a little far till I closed distance. I'm also liking buffer tank instead of active

If you don't use a scrambler, you could fit some electronic warfare. A tracking disruptor, for example.

Here is a general fit that I use:

Blasters
Scram, Web, MWD, free slot for your choice.
Plate, Damage Control, EANMs, free slot for more tank or damage.

You can fit a 1600mm plate if you drop the guns to electrons and fit a power grid rig. If you go with tech 2 800mm plate you'll have enough PG to fit ion blasters. CPU will be a bit tight though, so I fit a small cap booster in that free mid to counter neuts. That cap booster could also allow you to fit a cap-hungry reactive armor hardener in that fifth low slot to get a stronger tank if you prefer tank over damage. Many other people don't like it, but I like the reactive armor hardener.

I'm just gonna do my thing and post fits.

Thorax: 1600mm + Electrons

Highs:
Heavy Electron Blaster II (x5) [CN Antimatter M]

Mids:
Experimental 10mn Microwarpdrive I
J5b Phased Prototype Warp Scrambler I
X5 Prototype Engine Enervator I
[Mid slot of choice] really put whatever the f*ck you want in that slot, perhaps a damp or TD in fleets, another web, or an afterburner as me roomed above. The choice is yours

Lows:
Damage Control II
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II (x2)
Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II (you can swap a magstab for another EANM if you so desire)
1600mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I

Rigs:
Medium Ancillary Current Router I
Medium Trimark Armour Pump I (x2)

Drones:
These are up to personal preference. If I'm brining a web or two, I'll throw in some Valks, but if I'm expecting a lot of tackle, a flight of warriors and a flight of ECMs are my go to.

This fit excels in small armour gangs where heavy tackle is often needed. Just burn in, point web and begin DPSing him down. Tops out at around 1600 m/s before heat, and just over 2300m/s after.

Thorax: Dual LSE

Highs:
Heavy Ion Blaster II (x5) [CN Antimatter M]

Mids:
Experimental 10mn Microwarpdrive I
J5b Phased Prototype Warp Scrambler I
Large Shield Extender II
Large FS-9 Regolith Shield Induction I

Lows:
Damage Control II
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II (x3)
Power Diagnostic System II

Rigs:
Medium Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer I
Medium Core Defense Field Extender I (x2)

Drones:
Warrior II (x5)
Horner EC-300 (x5)

This is a more solo focused fit, where you want to blitz your target and burn him down before help can arrive. Pretty simple tactics with this one. It goes about 1900m/s before heat, and hits 2800 m/s after.

Overall the Thorax these days is a really fun ship to fly and doesn't need many fancy tactics to do well with. Good luck!
