Could small and micro carriers be cool?

I was just thinking about the carriers and I thought I could be cool to have a "micro" carrier that would not be a capital sized and only use scout drones or other small variants. . . The difference over the drone carrier destroyers would be that they could use 10 scout drones based on skill like a carrier and then be able to equip small drone modules to get up to 15 scout drones. It might have more hit points like a cruiser. . . and function just like a carrier. . . just on a smaller level. . .

Of course make a bigger version that would use the medium sized drones a "small" carrier and then one that would use the large drones a "sub" carrier. . .

This would be for those of us that want the joy of carriers to take on mission running, ratting, or something we don't mind getting blown up in. . .

Good idea, bad idea?

We were used to have max. 10 drones on every droneship.
Because of serverload it was reduced to 5 with a 100% bonus.

So my guess is its a bad idea.
Also we allready have a dominix and so on.

I would prefer to see an Orca sized Light Carrier then a sub capital ship. I would say the current drone boats are fine for that. Maybe a smaller Battlecruiser sized Escort Carrier that fits 10 mediums as well but below that nah.

Size and handling similar to an Orca, 200-250k EHP, 500mil price tag, capital rigs, fits cheaper (20mil) Small Control Units to a maximum of 10 Drones, 5% Damage bonus to racial drone dmg (pending fix) and a second bonus to speed or tracking or whatever per race, too big to fit in missions, about 1000 Drone bay + or - each.

An all Drone ship unlike the hybrid type Battleships could be fun. Big slow (no MWD speed), harder to kill, easier to catch with all destructible damage. I would enjoy an Orca sized racial Escort Carrier.

Example

Freyr:

Minmatar Lightt Carrier Skill Bonuses:
+5% bonus to Minmatar Drone Damage
+5% bonus to Minmatar Drone Speed
Role Bonus:
-90% Grid Cost for Micro Drone control Unit

Slot layout: 5H, 6M, 5L; 0 turrets , 0 launchers
Fittings: 10000 PWG, 750 CPU
Defense (shields / armor / hull) : 35000 / 30000 / 32500
Capacitor (amount / recharge rate / cap per second) : 8000 / 1500s / 5
Mobility (max velocity / agility / mass / align time): 70 / .136 / 250000000 / 30s
Drones (bandwidth / bay): 250 / 950
Targeting (max targeting range / Scan Resolution / Max Locked targets): 80km / 80 / 8
Sensor strength: 28 Ladar Sensor Strength
Signature radius: 1000

I would enjoy such a ship a lot in addition to my Blaster Dominix.

Server now handles drones on the same target as a single entity. So unless your drones are on more than 5 different targets at the same time, there's no more load than it is now.

You haven't explained why this is meaningfully different than existing drone carriers other than MOAR DRONES.

Thanks! :D I am not the only thinking about this. . . like I said. . . a really small carrier that just does scout sized drones would be cool :D

The point is that they would have no guns and be like mini carriers. . . and the biggest part would indeed be more drones, lol. . .
