Read THIS before posting that you can't fly a certain ship post Odyssey

Ok I'm going to make this as easy for everyone to understand as I can.


1) Start up Eve and log into the character in question.

2) Pull up the Market.

3) Navigate to the ship in question (on the Browse Ship tab, or "Groups" tab via search function).

4) Check the page that shows the little skill book icon next to the image for the ship in question.

5) If it's GREEN you can fly it (hint, you already injected the top level Skill book).

5b) If it's RED you still need to train skills to inject the top level Skill book.


As a personal example, I have Gallente Freighter LvL 3 but only have Adv SC LvL 3 (it's 5 now to inject the T1 Freighter skillbook). I can actually sit in and pilot a T1 Gallente Freighter but I don't meet the prerequisites to INJECT THE SKILLBOOK for Gallente Freighter. Since I obviously have the Gallente Freighter skillbook injected then you guessed it, I can fly the thing post Odyssey. This goes for ALL ships that CCP changed prerequisites to inject the top level Skillbook.

Once again, before you make some post that everyone is going to bash you, actually try and sit in/undock the ship in question. If you still have an issue then it's possibly a bug. Bugs do happen with major patches/xpacs and CCP does need to know of such issues.

EDIT: I apparently have to make this EVEN MOAR CLEAR!

The tab on a ship's info called "PREREQUISITES" is irrelevant post Odyssey for ALL ships that CCP changed skills in that tree as long as BEFORE Odyssey you had already injected the Skill book for THAT SHIP or ship type.

I can't understand how anyone still can't figure this out and that people have to explain it like they're talking to a 10 yr old to get it through people's heads.

if i were CCP i'd stop trying, and i'd just forum ban people who make threads about it, and ignore petitions about it too.

it's a good job ccp are nicer than i am.

The dev blogs read like scrambled eggs. If you have ocd the changes might make sense, I wouldn't know. Sure I could have gone through all 6 characters skills and analyzed how all these changes will effect them but that would have been painful. I just want to know an easy way to tell if I can fly a jump freighter before I spend 6 billion isk on one. This post gives the answer.

The fact that some people appearantly have trouble undocking because the big undock button was moved from the lower left to the upper right is what amazes me.

Thank you and LOL about the new undock button. I've been playing on/off for 7 years and it wasn't an issue for me locating the GIGANTIC Undock button on the screen.

I thought CCP was punishing me for all my bad deeds by not allowing me to undock! Wow that was scary! Now I can go back to causing mayhem Twisted

I think the problem is explaining at the level a 10 year old can understand, is too high for some people.
