Black Screening? What is this? Session Change problem as well?

Ok... so more less. This happens off undocking some places. Good thing is... I can still move about and what not. But what the hell is causing this.

maybe that chat overlay is blacking out the screen or something

I get a blank screen in the middle of the gate jump animation on occasion.

Never happened on Retribution.

turning the map on/off was one workaround from the issues thread about it ... no clue if it's the same issue.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

I'm thoroughly disappointed with the content in this thread. The title made me think of something else.

Same thing happened to me just now in Kronsur. Redocked, undocked and everything went back to normal.

it has nothing to do with your gfx card drivers.

CCP changed something to fix blackscreens some people were experiencing and borked something else in the process, creating this new "black screen problem". oddly enough, if you dock and undock, the "black screens" transforms into a "transparent screen"

either way you cant interact with the space, only the ui.

Pre-canned animation interference. Player loses control of their toon while it plays it's sequence. A console design making it's way to PCs (console players are used to pre-canned animations, as it's how they can even play. Pre-canned animations take less system resources as it's like a video cinematic. It's the console version of PC Bink video cutscenes for PCs). It's why the player loses control, as he's waiting for the "video" sequence to finish.

Games went from pre-canned animations for cinematics, to live action, back to pre-canned again, and worse, not for just cutscenes. Ugh

This is a bug which we had a really hard time figuring out, but we think we have found the problem and have fixed it and hope to get the fix out to you soon (tomorrow as far as I know).

Great news!

Wish I could've been more helpful, but here it only happened 4-5 times and in my case, docking and undocking hasn't fixed it since the first incident. I'd just undock to black screen over and over. So I've just restarted the computer each time and usually can make it through the rest of the day without issue. The only thing I know for sure is that on each post-black screen restart, the "windows task host manager" has stopped responding but as I understand it, that can mean anything.

workaround: turn map on/off

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

It breaks the new jump animation. I try and force a black screen when I have more than 12 jumps in destination.

Nice. I get a blue screen (during warp animation) rather than a black screen. Hope it's the same problem.

Yeah I've noticed this as well. It's normally on the "first" animation of the jump (leaving the system jump tunnel) and displays properly in the "entering system" jump tunnel animation.

Also, its not a black screen, but more of a blue one--perhaps its the menu color(?), since I have mine set to Black Pearl. In fact, we should change our menu colors to something else and see if the "black" part of the jump tunnel changes appropriately.
