You can achor a container, or setup a warp distruption field

Lets go a little futher, deply a weapon turret platform, or missile platform.
Or repair platform

weapons and missiles are already there (POS)
repair ... eh, not so much... you need a friend, or to refit an armour/hull repper in the POS...

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

yes, i know.. pos.. but this would act like deployable mobile warp disrupter

Interesting but the spamming in fleet battles would be insane.

Limit per fleet if fleeted,

maybe only fleets can deploy like the fleet leader and get so many per skill.

Needs alot of thought still but ill keep thinking.

Like the idea

this is not the same. :)

max lvl 5 would maybe limit the deployment for 2?

I was thinking that to but maybe they should take up drone bandwidth. like a repping platform. you cant use your drones on yourself but i could use a stationary platform. nothing comparible like remote repping but maybe a single platforms uses the bandwith of say 3 ogres. more tank for less dps. trade offs.

That is an good idea.

My idea tho was it was going to be in the cargo hull, no matter what, if u bring one into your hull, it would take space where u normally could have more ammo or cap booster :)

Once ejected into space, it would start to fold out and do what ever job it was intended to.

this could allso help defending the upcomming planetary thing.

I mean, if this would come, people now would have a way to defend their office, by ancoring some cannons.

A corperation would be able to plant several turret platforms to protect their office

Should be some limit on how close they can be to one another or else it is going to be spam city.

There are a lot of abuses this proposal opens, not to mention its non-trivial to implement.

Mobile Warp Disruptors and Anchorable cans are dummy objects. They require no AI. You cant warp if your within proximity, you can't access the container without a password.

How exactly do these anchorable guns decide whom to shoot?

Mobile Warp Disruptors work on EVERYONE.... perhaps these should too... Twisted

Realistically though, these objects now need configuring, which will complicate them. And lets be frank, current POS AI on whom to shoot isn't exactly stellar. I foresee a lot of potential problems with their associated AI.

Now, what's to prevent their abuse?

Anchor 100 of them around a gate, as well as several large mobile warp disruptors, and now you essentially have deathstar POS's at gates, or stations, or asteroid belts.... Is this good for the game?

Realized, the number of turrets you can have at a POS is limited by the CPU/PG usage of the weapons. What are your limits to these turrets??? Prevent them from being anchored 10 km's from another object? So what, you can still put out 100's around a gate and make travel through it essentially impossible.

The fact POS's are only at moons puts severe restrictions on the use of current anchorable turrets. Your essentially removing the limits on anchorable turrets, to put as many as you want around whatever you want. I don't see this as a good thing for our game....
