Its not about removing it. Its about giving us the option to turn it off. I have a feeling that most people that "love" the new gate effect only make a handful of jumps a day. When you are making 50+ jumps a day on multiple accounts you come to hate it very quickly.

There are so many things in the game that need tuning and rebalancing it seems that this was just resources wasted for a useless effect.

Ummm...lets see, I made multiple trips between Lonetrek and Kor-Azor space - that is about 16 jumps one way, over the last few days. So we're talking hundreds of jumps since Odyssey. I had no issue with the new jump animation.

This post deserves the quote of the day.

If you DID have any issues with the jump animation - would you make your first post at all?

See a doctor, you have bigger issues.

You may be right, but it's funny how I didn't need to see a doctor to play Eve before Tuesday.

All the more reason to go see one.

Something is clearly not right with you if this is setting you off.

Look at it this way: since I don't get this problem anywhere else in my day to day life, think of all the money I can save by not going to a doctor and just keeping my sub cancelled until they allow us to shut this jump effect off. It's a win/win scenario for me either way. \o/

Well until something similar outwith your normal daily life sets it off in a situation where you really wouldn't want to be suddenly ill and you get to remember his advice as your cars plows off a bridge or whatever and think maybe you made a poor choice.

Given that the only visual cues that differ from warping and the new jump effect is the initial bit where the view swings down to the gate I am a bit dubious about this sudden motion sickness epidemic (or maybe it is that little bit that is actually doing it).

Yeah. That's really strange. This comes only from people wanting something for them.
The same is for people stating they are depressed, or "burned-out" or addicted to something.

All lazy hippie-fakers!!!

No - he stated that after 50+ jumps you come to hate it. I was only stating that is not true. I have made hundreds and love it as much as the first time. So he maybe hates - but I bet there are many others like me that love it. P

You are equipped with a checkbox to disable the jump animation. It's called eyelids. Close them.

You are (probably) equipped with a thing called "brain". Try to make use of it.

what the hell do these people do when watching a movie ? vomit in mouth a little, leave movie, complain to manager and get more tickets for a movie that won't upset their tum tum.
Some combination of those things, yes. Although it's not very common since only a handful of films are shot in anything above 24fps, and "fluid" framerates are a factor.

Now that Hollywood is starting to experiment with stereoscopic photography, and some producers are finally moving up from the 24fps format, reports of motion sickness are getting more common. [Link] [Link]

I like the new animation and hope it stays. The old jittery warp animation used to give me a litle motion sickness, but this new gate animation does not. There are a lot of computer/console games, especially first person shooters, that I can't play because an hour of play will give me an incredible headache and nausea for hours. One reason I play Eve is because it doesn't have that effect. So, I feel for the people whom it does make sick.

No one is asking for the animation to be removed. Just for an option to be presented for those of us who get ill from watching it.
