Immediately following the Odyssey Update

Launcher: Nominal

Game Executable:
Log in - Slow
Character Selection - Nominal
In game - After character selection > 0% GPU Usage - 0.4 FPS

Troubleshooting Steps Taken:
Cleared Cache
Cleared User Cache
Cleared Client Cache
Cleared Client User Cache
Used Repair Tool
Updated Nvidia Drivers from 314 to 320 (current version)
Ran Client in Safe-mode - No change

Brief Description:
Immediately after the Odyssey update, the game was loading very slowly. It would take approximately 30 minutes to finish loading up to the ship hangar. I noticed during this process that the loaded character selection screen had 45% GPU Usage, and in game had Shocked0% GPU UsageShocked. Causing the game to load everything with RAM and CPU only. This is the first I have ever seen a game not use the GPU at all. At this point I am at a loss, and have no idea on what else to do in order to rectify this issue. I assume that this issue is probably DEV side, so I am posting here in hopes of some kind of resolution.

That's an odd problem. Have you filed a bug report? I wish I could help more but yeah, that's def something a dev will need to look into.

I also am having a very similar set of symptoms with my GTX 580 powered machine, with the peak frame rate being 3fps

This problem is still unresolved, and is getting a bit aggravating. I am completely unable to even update my skill training due to having less than 1 FPS.

this happens mostly to SSD and/or Notebook users who prohibited EVE to write logfiles in the folder Documents\EVE\logs, if this the case you know why (save SSD from degrade and/or having more autonomy with the Notebook preventing many and costant HDD write access)

customer with this problem (low-fps with 0% GPU usage and High CPU usage) solved this allowing again EVE to write the logs, check if this is the case:

eventually a workaround to save SDD or Notebook battery (this need a RAMDRIVE) is here:

i have an issue that looks similiar so i'm writing this up here.

When i start one client all seems normal, gpu load hovers around 20-25% which i´m pretty much used to.
But when i add a second client the gpu load shoots up right to 100%; yet the temperatures suggest the gpu really is not doing a lot; in fact according to gpu-z the temps almost reach idle values.
The problem gets obviously worse if more clients are added.
Before the expansion deployment my "physical" limit was around 5 clients which used to bring the gpu close to 100% and the temps into the 70s °C.
Now 2 clients make 100% load with temps of around 35-40 °C.

A short lived workaround for me is going into the gpu & grahpics and press close window button.
This brings the clients into workable condition; sadly only for a while. For now my fleets are grounded while this is being worked on

Used HW: Nvidia gtx580
driver: 320.18

and in regard to the SSD; i'm not running my system configured like that so i don't see the problem completely on that end

I've a GTX570OC ... try out old and stable 314.22, 320.18 is buggy driver giving lots of porblems in many games, 60% my steam games won't run with 320.18 but run perfectly with 314.22

I am having same issue.

- I have a desktop PC running Windows XP.
- My graphics card is a GeForce GTX 280.
- Only running one client.
- Upon login, I am immediately hit with soul-crushing lag and FPS rate of almost zero. This only happened after the new expansion.
- Clicks and actions are delayed by as much as 10 seconds.
- All graphical setting are already set to off or lowest settings.

Game is absolutely unplayable. I just set a three week long skill. Outside of new computer, what can I do?
