That's a HELL of a divide

So I'm a Wspacer, hey, hello, and had an interesting experience in K-space today.

after a surplus of cash lately, I decided to upgrade a trial account whose time had run out years ago but I'd never done anything with in the 4 years since. So basically all the positions in the Wspace are filled by my main/main alt, and don't need anything YET, but there's a few skills I could do.

So I Plexed the character, flew her out to a rookie system to get skills and incidentally had an argument with a few Local Users that really drove home to me the difference between K-spacers and me. Or just me and others in the community. They were bragging about pimped out ships with not really great fits that they had that they'd never fly. a Rattler with at LEAST 2-3B of fitting. Another K-Spacer had a Navy Mega and was flying around with it.....but couldn't use the guns yet. I was kind of surprised when he accepted my duel request (because Ackbar). If only that character had more than a Velator to his name in the Region. or if I had had a group of Tornadoes in the area. Of course, if I was sitting in the docking radius with a Faction tank I wouldn't worry about accepting a duel request from a Velator, even if I was so stupid I didn't have guns fitted (again, not sure if trolling or really that stupid)

I don't know about you but I tend to focus my ISK, and not buy crap I don't need. I get the ships for running sites, a PVP ship or two, a gas runner, and a barge for the slow times in the Wspace. If I don't need something, I don't buy it. I've been trying to clean up my Assets for the last........since '05, but it hasn't worked out so well. I just don't understand why someone would buy a super bling ship that they never intended to UNDOCK.

Yeah, I've got Zephyrs and Echelons, and Gnoses, oh my! But they're gifts that I'm hoarding because CCP thinks I'm a special snowflake (shut up)!

My ships have a purpose, I've accepted that they're all pre-blown up even while the ones I'm not using are in my tower, and if I eventually shut down the force field (and not because I forgot fuel) and bring everything out it's a refreshing surprise. I just cannot understand the hibears and their spinny, shiny bling ships. I can understand the null/low/Chribbabears with their giant, super bling ships that never dock that they farm sites/mine/farm kills/die in.

But that's the beauty of EVE. We all have different tastes, and we can all legitimately call each other stupid pubbies.

And all be completely right.

Now, the world don't move to the beat of just one drum,
What might be right for you, may not be right for some.
A man is born, he's a man of means.
Then along come two, they got nothing but their jeans.

But they got, Diff'rent Strokes.
It takes, Diff'rent Strokes.
It takes, Diff'rent Strokes to move the world.

Everybody's got a special kind of story
Everybody finds a way to shine,
It don't matter that you got not alot
So what,
They'll have theirs, and you'll have yours, and I'll have mine.
And together we'll be fine....

Because it takes, Diff'rent Strokes to move the world.
Yes it does.
It takes, Diff'rent Strokes to move the world.

So... the OP is space-poor compared to high-sec twits even after all his hard work, meta-gaming, and risk taking in w-space?

Or... PLEX for isk lets (rich) stupid players play Eve stupidly?

Or... OP couldn't be bothered to (or couldn't afford to) buy a PvP ship locally and settle the argument via a duel?

Or... OP is over-generalizing based on his experiences with a few people he happened to meet in the rookie systems, the solution to which is to get out of w-space with his main and socialize more with the rest of the galaxy instead of hiding in his hermit wormhole cave in the boonies?

Or.... posting in a stealth high-sec is too rich and high-sec income needs to be nerfed thread?

Pon Farr Memorial: once every 7 years, all the carebears in high-sec must PvP or they will be temp-banned.

Don't get out much, the barely out of trial account didn't have much SP/ISK, and no, I don't get out much, but when I do I tend not to spend much time in hi sec if I can help it.

Have you been drinking the spinal fluid of those orphans again? I told you, you have to clean them first.

Oko Fury in Couster

Xeritan had the Bling Bling Rattler. Also enounctered in Couster.

Note: Xeritan's Rattler had only 10 Federation Navy Ogres. Thus the trolling by m--Mittens.

I have 2 really flashy ships and i'm a k spacer. A tengu and a sleipnir. Both have completely different roles. I use my sleip for exploration, and my tengu for missions (a weird twist huh?). Anyway, point being is that they're both incredibly flashy for one reason- they work. and they work very good.

That's a Templar, an Amarr fighter used by carriers.

You have to understand some EVE players are like "Car Guys" in real life. They buy things they rarely use just to know they own it and can talk about. Also there are players out there who do use there multi billion isk ships in High sec for Missioning, incursioning ect. Funny thing is to here you rant about a 3 billion isk rattler. Some of the people I know have single modules on there ship worth more than that.
