Bombs not exploding when you die

The reason it works this way is so bombers actually have a hard counter. Ultimately if bombs still landed after the death of the bomber there would be no reason to field anything more than about sixty bombers for any fight in nullsec. Even if the entire enemy fleet was made up of instalocking instapopping ships they would still get wiped out for a ship cost much greater than that of the bombers that sacrificed themselves.

A 25 mil ship is a throwaway ship if you can guarantee an entire battleship fleet kill no matter the results of your bombing run or how good an FC you are.

Yet, it also kills suicide ganking as a combat method.

So is this another nerf to protect the $$$ in a "sandbox" game?

Iirc, bombs are separate entities on the server once they're launched. Thus, a bomber doesn't need to be alive nor even on the grid at the time that the bomb explodes.

Nope. If the bomber gets popped before the bomb lands it whiffs. The on grid part is true however.

It's how instacanes and the like protect fleets, buy killing the bombers. If the bomber warps off, then well that bomb is gonna go off. From the time they decloak to entering warp, you better catch them and kill them quickly (not that it takes much anyway, a volley of your prefired arty should do it).

Not true, bombs DO explode if you warp off. This I know for a act, my Bombing alt is in Bomber Bar - That WHOLE point is that you align, bomb and warp.

So knowing that bombs DO explode when you warp, I am wondering why they do not when you die.

Bombs don't do dmg if you cloak before they explode, not before you warp off
