CCP when can we expect to see cloaking require interaction to stay cloaked?

Not a bad suggestion. I was thinking maybe a countdown timer that allows you stay claoked for X amount of time and your allowed to reset it once it drops below a specific mark.

For what purpose, though?

To require interaction with the game. Somone not even at the keyboard or in game should not be able to influence the actions or decisions of others that are in game and at thier keyboard.

Some will argue that if they are afk then there is no influence. I say they are wrong and are onlly trying to preserve a form of AFK play.

AFK is AFK weather its the miner or the cloaker. If not afk then click the button to stay cloaked for another 10-15 min.

If your not in game playing the game then you should really not be able to effect the choices of those who are.

I think this stream recording is where CCP Fozzie and CCP (forgothisname) mentioned that they want to look at cloaking.

Why should someone in bed or at the store be allowed to have an impact on others who are in game?

You let people who aren't actually playing the game have an impact on you? When has an AFK cloaked guy ever killed someone?

The problem is, you don't know if their active or not. That creates a fear. You Goons should know, you guys do it NON-Stop. When I flew with HBC Renters, you guys cloaky camped our systems non-stop.

It should be on random time anywhere between 5 minutes and 30 minutes. With a 30 second warning that you'll be decloaking. This won't mess up bombing runs, but it'll allow people who AREN'T at their computers to be killed or dealt with.

Influence is on you. If you find someone who's been harmed by a cloaked ship, I'll show you someone who's using an exploit and deserves bannination.

Cloak works as intended. It's scary, yes. It's the submarine of this submarine game.

Use the many well-known counters of cloak to your advantage. Stop expecting :ccp: to do work for you.

Ohh, to counter your INTERACT argument....CCP has only considered game interaction required when you are deriving a direct, tangible benefit from the game. You get zero tangible benefit from sitting in a safespot cloaked, so CCP really doesn't care if you do it.

You clearly have no business playing this game, then.

Guess the next step is to make your market orders disappear when you're not logged in then? Or PI installations? Wardecs? There's already countless ways to influence the game without being at your keyboard. It seems to me that the problem is not so much that they are influencing you as you're letting yourself be influenced by them. It's actually your own decision how much influence someone who is afk has over you.

A lot of things work as intended until they change it. Lol it would be my guess you have never seen a sub. Even a sub sitting on the bottom of the ocean requires interaction.

I like the fact that they acknowledge it in the video, means it on their radar.

I dont feel you should be able to influence the game when your not in the game and thats exactly what AFK cloaking allows.

Required interaction with the game should be across the board not just for part of the player base.

I understand people will argue against it because you dont want to loose your afk ability. A wardec has the ability to see who is on and who is not ,it even gives you the ability to watch list people.

You may want to think next time before offering such a poor counter argument.

The ability to remain cloaked and not even be in game is to huge to not require an interaction. If your not AFK then press a button.

If CCP did the right thing and removed you from local if you are running a covert ops cloak ( Isn't that what covert means, ffs), then we wouldn't be having threads like this.

After they change cloaking and add fuel could they also require it for MWDs so we don't need to hear about nearly impossible to catch inties? ...oh and nerf nearly unscannable fits they could also impact the gameplay of pussies.

Maybe the examples I gave are different, but you're not really saying how (apart from that a wardec lets you see if the deccers are online?). And the other two examples also let you influence other people, even though you're not at the keyboard.. plus you didn't address the central point, which is that you're the one who chooses to what degree you're influenced..

Sounds like a personal problem, really.

Tradition defines and shapes a person, but should be evaluated frequently; far too often does Tradition no longer help, but hobble a person and stunt their growth. Especially a Capsuleer.

Im sure you could ask for that if you so wish. I have serious reservations you would have any knowledge regarding pussies other then the day you came out of one.

I agree with the OP. The afk cloak may not kill you directly but it can kill you in other ways and it certainly does effect how you conduct business in SOV.

I dont see the issue,if your not afk then press that button or move that ship. I f they are making miners interact then why should covert be better or different?
