You really think CCP won't do it? I would lay money on it.

It wasn't about that. I'll just say that your adjective shows questionable taste. Are you also a fan of Slavic schoolmarms?

Like I said, she is a 5/10. Cute, kinda average. Not hot or gorgeous or whatever.

Fair enough. Can't have them too hot, or they don't seem approachable or "real" enough to get the basement dwellers reeled in.

is this really about mintchip? And you you think she came as part of the Odyssey expansion?

I really know nothing about her, except she made some Eve videos. If and when she fucks up, then let the **** fly, but give her a chance.

Dunno her enough to form an opinion. Lets just cool our jets and see what develops, eh? If people always went on a rant and quit anytime something displeases them, Edison would have never invented the light bulb etc etc. Arrow

What's wrong with sausage? I prefer turkey sausage myself, but my wife says I am weird. :(

True. I sort of hope I'm wrong about the person. But I still worry about someone who doesn't like the game working for the game in any capacity. I mean look at other CCPers. They all love this game and dedicate themselves to it and make it insanely good. What happens when you throw apathy into the works though?

Like I said, hope I'm wrong.

I doubt she got the job by being apathetic about the game. Part of a company's hiring process is normally aimed at finding people who are enthusiastic about whatever they'll be involved in. Whatever remarks she's made in the past are from before she was under any obligation to weigh up how the rest of the community will view her words - she wasn't an employee then.

I'm also not particularly worried about whether she fits the whole "grimdark" thing, either. She's a DUST community rep. Her role is to interact with and foster the DUST community. Let's be realistic, she's not about to somehow singlehandedly fill New Eden with unicorns and rainbows. Even if she wanted to, it's not happening.

In regards to her comments; she deleted them. Twitter, TY, FB, blog, all deleted. She forgot her Twitter and someone screen capped it right before she deleted it though.

Therein lies a lot of the problem. Those who don't get it now probably never will. Everything just looks like "he said/she said" to the newcomer on this topic, because she purged just about all of the evidence being held up against her. It's basically the equivalent of trying to prove someone guilty in court after they were allowed to ransack the evidence room and burn the contents.

I'm assuming I haven't seen all this relevant stuff but that it was there, but I have more faith in the CCP's HR team to recruit someone appropriate than I have in the forum mobs to decide. I did see some of her opinions, they seemed quite tame. I'm sure I've come across worse on the forums.

I also think it's quite appropriate for anything that could be seen as harmful to her new role at CCP to be removed. Whatever comments were made, they were from before the time she was a CCP employee. She was under no obligation to represent the company in a good light, or even to be balanced. If she was pissed off with some players, she had every right to say what she thought without considering if it would be appropriate to say as an employee - beceause she wasn't one. However, now she's been hired by them, it's quite appropriate if some, or all, of those are now deleted, because the context that they will be interpreted in has now changed.

So, that's why GoDaddy hired Danica Patrick to represent their brand. It's her enthusiasm for their products..

I've seen some of her videos in the past where she advocated incarna stuff among other things. That certainly was not one of the brightest ideas.

On the other hand, I would feel really dumb getting banned on these forums for raging about CCP hiring someone who posted videos on YouTube. However embarassing they may be Lol.

I'd probably be worried if CCP hired Robert Kotick. But this? Come on, give her a chance.

Only in that both companies are exploiting "talents" other than product knowledge, or enthusiasm for the brand they are representing.

My god how does one person cause so much unrest? Do you really think this one person is going to have that much pull on CCP?

I admit I was a little miffed by it at first, but then my sanity kicked in. It's really not that big of a deal. We have giant idiots on the CSM, and they have far more influence on the game, but no one is up in arms about that.

Grow up.

Yes, if I was her I'd phone in sick claim bulling, depression, off the record I'd just tell the boss that I'm just here for the cash, keep the cash flowing & the pension building & I won't cause any grief or sue.

Just put it to them straight. I'm a $50k per year liability just write me off as that, don't speak to me, write me or call me unless it's about my pay or pension. If you don't do this then I will get a lawyer involved which could cost you millions & even sink CCP.

And then form a nationwide group of underground fight clubs?

I'm loving all the omega white knighting males in this thread. From what I've seen there is really not one piece of evidence that can back up CCP's actions on this decision, once again from what I have seen. Just because someone has a youtube channel full of videos that imo suck (I'm mean suck bad) does not make them gud enough imo. kil2 (CCP Rise) earned his position, not because of his gender (if that even matters but apparently it does in some circles) but because he contributed something tangible and productive. Everyone kissing a@@ just because needs to seriously quit and think with your big head, not the little one.

I suggest you stopped buying anything from any company that has more than 10 employees, because there is an incredibly high chance of any of them having an employee who has personnal behavior, convictions or beliefs that you do not share.

Seriously, grow up.
