Has the T3 booster nerf already happened? I just want to double check before setting up my skill plan.

Not yet, to my knowledge. It will happen when they adjust the command ship bonuses. That should happen as a point release for Odyssey, but no firm date has been given to my knowledge.

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

not yet. what we know is, ccp is working on some server-side stuff that will allow for the possibility of an offgrid booster nerf, ccp has said they want to do something about offgrid boosters, and the current plan for ship rebalancing includes a desire to make tech 2 command ships better at boosting than tech 3 strategic cruisers

correct me if i am wrong

I vaguely remember some talk about the idea to implement Command Ships/T3 bonii as some form of bonus 'Bubble' like a Hictor and only ships within its influence would receive the bonus effects.

IIRC it was mainly a technical challenge holding them back, handling on-grid/off-grid etc, but TBH the 'Bubble' idea actually sounds pretty good to me and I'd have thought that some of the groundwork would already be in place from the Hictors themselves.

Anyway I'd expect the change in whatever form it comes to be released Soon™

Not yet. They're waiting for your alt to finish training before nerfing it.

Thanks for the clarification. Seems like it is already nerfed IMO. With a T3 you can only run 2 links comfortably, are very tight on the fit, and severely compromise the tank.

So true! Looks like I already wasted a ton of time playing with fits.

You can run a full rack. But there is indeed no tank. This is why most boosting alts are kept in NPC corps. Boosting from the gate/undock/safe keeps the booster relatively secure while the shitfit PvP pro main does the work.

A typical T3 OGB has no tank, just a high rack full of warfare links, mid rack full of commandn processors and low full of CPU.

There are separate nerfs to T3 Boosters that people talk about.

0. While not discussed as a major nerf to OGBs, the oddesy probing changes are going to make it much riskier to run a safed OGB, as it will no longer require investing multiple billions in a probing setup to probe them down. OGBs in towers are not effected.

1. "rebalance" aka nerf, that CCP has said IS going to happen, which will be a reduction in subsystem bonus to links from 5% per level, to 2% per level. This will make command ships superior in raw amount of boost. If you can keep your on grid command ship alive, you will have better bonuses then your enemy who still uses an OGB.

2. The total removal of OGB nerf that some at CCP have said they would "like" to see happen, but which has technical problems, and which CCP has not committed to doing at all, let alone on a specific time frame. You should not count on it every happening, as it would require a total ground up redesign of T3 boosters, which cannot both boost effectively, and have a tank.
