I must say that ccp did a great job with the animations but they for got one thing not everyone would want it.

the next mistake ccp did was replying to this post with the old code is gone. kinda reminds me of ccp before CQ with the you don't like it that's tough ****.

ccp where is your pr department for these kinds of posts?

It hasn't reached PR department levels yet. Wait until this weekend.

Still, you'd think they'd at least have something to say in response, apart from what we got at the very beginning of the thread.

Those new animations are totally annoying. I do not talk about motion sickness or epileptic seizures, whatever. It is just annoying- especially in case you do a lot of jumps everyday. Same goes for the scan sweep- why do i have to see this all the time? I have no interest in exploration at all.

Give us options, CCP.

They're probably still taken aback by the fact that their pet fluff feature isn't being received so well. Where have I seen this before?

I don´t think the effort put into CQ is comparable to this animation disaster we see now. For me this expansion smells like a hastily cobbled together nice try.

Actually, due to the nature of how this effect is coded and linked to game mechanics, an "animation off" button is likely to be extremely difficult to code

How do you know ? Nothing in your profile indicate that you have more insight in this than anyone else outside of CCP

I work in IT as well

This fully qualifies you, indeed.

Selective quoting FTW. Smile

yep it was harder for them to put spinning back in but if we scream loud enough they will do it =)

I'm not sure that pointing out what is quite probably the most idiotic thing the EvE community allowed itself to get worked up about is doing much for your cause. Smile

You saw "idiotic". CCP saw "oh ****". We see how that worked out, eh?

Just because CCP made allowances for the idiocy doesn't make it any less idiotic. Blink

So because of you working in IT and have modded then you know this is very hard to change .... thanks, needless mess more here. You have answered the question .... you know absolutely nothing about this problem in EVE is difficult to change.

If you knew anything about game modification and using self developed as well as developer provided tools to do so, you'd realize how silly you look right now.

Yes, I am very familiar with coding limitations.

I think the new jump animation is awesome. It seems to have this slight bend effect in it that almost made me fall out of my seat a couple times. Which hasn't happened since I played the original doom and hid under my desk after I met a cyberdemon. I haven't tried multiboxing yet. Those who do and have lag should maybe try affinity binding? If the developers can't patch it. There's usually sometimes 60% of the time always a tweak.

Fair enough Ranger. Selective quoting can be a problem.

But I've noticed that you have not responded to the idea that algorithm efficiency must be weighed against a concern for human cognitive factors. As someone with experience on the comp-sci side of things, I'd be curious to hear what you think.

Which doesn´t make you an expert of the coding done in Eve at all. @Ranger 1

How about this.

Lay off the hooch when you play and you might not feel so queasy from jumping.

Remember folks drinking and jumpgates is a bad combination.

It may well be possible that they can do something to disable the camera swing that occurs when your point of view aligns to the destination and when you arrive... although that raises some rather obvious issues.

Its clear none of you are games programmers. Chances are, it is not going to be an easy change to make.

I am still not convinced this is a real medical issue and its just people dont want the warp cloud or in the case of Bee, once again throwing **** at CCP for no other reason than he hates this game.
