What amazed me more than your actually being able to play video games when you're at work without getting fired is the idea that your workplace doesn't block the ports Eve uses and nobody appears to be looking at or caring much about network traffic.

There are employers in the world who aren't doing their best to emulate Mussolini or Stalin. It turns out that if you trust your employees, they're more likely to trustworthy. If you treat your employees with respect, they're more likely to respect you. So in jobs where your employees literally have their hands on the beating heart of your organisation, treating them as humans instead of trained monkeys tends to work in your favour.

So the short version is this: in some jobs, it is more important that you get your work done than to fill out hours of effort on a timesheet. There are no billable hours for network operations: it's a job where you are literally paying people to do nothing.

NOC Engineers are also responsible for monitoring activity, such as network usage, temperatures etc. They would also have to install equipment, such as KVMs, rack installation, IP-PDU setup, running cabling. The majority of NOC engineers are also on call and have a 7 day rota, working both day and night, on and off respectively.

It's no wonder my ISP has so many faults, like the massive 3-hour outage this morning. Its NOC was too busy AFK ice mining that it didn't notice the DSLAM was overheating. Roll

all other terrible ideas aside, i'd like to point out that you've just turned 80% of supply, in to 320% of supply, aka the situation this change was designed to remove.

ccp aren't going to backtrack because you cried a little bit.

I thank you CCP for this new ice mining structure, it kinda levels out the playing ground for me to be honest.

Dear CCP

Thanks for screwing up ice mining COMPLETELY, and with that the whole game for me, now I have nothing to do while I'm bored at work!!!

I now have 3 accounts that I was paying for with real money that will no longer be needed, nice going!

Let the flaming begin!

So basically you can undock warp to point A. Activate then fill up and dock and repeat the process?. Seems to me a nice botter.

If not undock warp to point A being a belt and mine rocks?.

Im guessing your remoting to your home pc and running eve in black and white. If so is it in your works contract that you are allowed to play EvE?

just have to tab a bit harder now?.

Still wonder about his definition of "doing something" though. How is afk mining doing something?

after 7 years of playing eve, i am going to give you some advice, In the last 5 expansions they pretty much screwed over the players every year and call it an expac.

U can quit or you can find another viable option to make isk but rest assure ccp will fuk you over in year agian if you are unlucky,
if you continue to play eve the devs will fuk you over that's almost like there job i think or at least what they believe there job description is

So realize this will be the first of many time dev peee you off and them tell you should worship them

Telling you its your fault for not keeping up with their bullshet dev blogs.
and their faq hag fanboi's sounding off in chorus of support for them

I remember getting the skills for my intercept 2 days before need for speed went from 13km to 4km per sec in speed. i learned then not to put my eggs into any one basket a stupid dev can break.

I will say they have made alot of my professions worthless over the years, my drone boat with Cruise missle spec V cant keep agro off my drones due to there stupid changes.

PI omg wtf a disaster that was i expected nothing less this time why i stocked piled 3 years of ice for my needs i dont care if ccp removes ice belts from empire
i got enough ice to go 3 more years CCP can sit on my middle finger and spin

PS:
News flash I got better shet to do with my time than read your stupid blog dev =)

I think "balanced" in that everyone has a "chance" to get at the ice (same as the rocks), and it seems that this'll help kill off some of the bots.

On top of this, shaking up industry in these ways may actually end up being the catalyst to bring corporations and alliances back into balance insofar as "navy" and "industry" pilots...

I agree with you!

From my point of view the actual ice mining is a total failure. This was a stupid ideea.I'm a casual solo player, and ice mining represented for me the most high ISK income in a short time, supporting my play in eve.Now I can't find ice anymore in highsec.
Because of this, guess what is the next step?
Quitting the game, this is the only way of protesting it.

I'm very sorry because I re-sub 2 days ago, not knowing of this change. So, I'm very pissed off.

Waiting 1 month until the sub will expire...

Good, maybe now you can concentrate on your job.

I suggest Who Moved My Cheese for the OP. Also some form of self-medication through legal means such as distilled spirits.
