Hey all, im wondering what ships can get away with fitting an improved/prototype cloak, thats not a recon/cov ops/black ops etc.

What i mean is like, cloaky vagabonds etc, does a cloaky rifter exist/cloaky thrasher, i can imagine a drake out there somewhere.

Thanks

Any ship with the power grid/CPU can fit a cloak. The benefit for the cov ops/recons/t3s is they can fit cov ops cloaking devices which allows them to warped cloaked. The black ops can fit a cloak well enough but not a cov ops one. Also any cloaked ship does get a lacking delay but a stealth bomber just remember.

Always willing to help all you have to do is ask, though if you're in the other fleet I may not help the way you want. Just a heads up. Pub Channel: Lost Souls Trading Post

all of the ships except Freighters can fit a Prototype or Improved cloak. It's up to you to decide if the trade-offs are worth it.

The only ships that can fit a cov-ops cloak are the Blockade Runners, Stealth Bombers, and Cov-Ops frigates/cruisers.

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

Black ops also have 0 targetting delay. Any recon/T3 has a 5 second delay.

The delay on any other ship will be so long (roughly 20 seconds if I remember) that its even very likely youl be dead before you can even target the other guy.

Actually i can get 14 seconds without the rig to reduce sensor calibration time :) Is it worth having a cloaky arbitrator?

I've seen alot of cloaky interdictors/heavy interdictors.

I've also seen a number of cloaks on capital ships.

What those both have in common is that they don't worry about the lock time penalty so much. Capitals are slow to target already, and hictors use an AOE bubble, so you don't have to lock to use it.

Also, ANY PVE ship in nullsec should have a cloak. PVE-ing you don't need to worry about lock times... you do need to worry about being able to hide, though.

I often put a cloak on a cruiser or BC. They can both preform the cloak/MWD trick well enough to run lowsec camps or move through highsec while wardeced.

A sensor booster or signal amp will compensate for the hit to your scan resolution.

Offensively they are good for camping gates in a wardec scenario if you want to wait for the one dumbass auto piloting around. Also for camping anoms in lowsec, some of the cans are buried in mazes that will not allow the bunny to align out before your targeting delay wears off. Or you can camp a wormhole and be ready to set a bubble if someone goes in after gas or loot.

Cloaks are for the patient hunter who values intel, and enjoys the process of setting traps.
