IF you are having FPS issues with Site Clouds/Gas/etc... Particle Effects... +1 FPS
IF you would like a Particles On/Off (for gas in Missions/Sites/Etc...) +1 On/Off

+1 FPS
+1 On/Off... that is my vote.

Its also often i cant see anything its so fk´n bright,, its zoom out to max to save the retinas and rely on the overview to tell you where you are and what you next target should be (not always the optimum)

already dead, just haven´t fallen over yet....

Yes frame drops (560Ti GTX) and so bright i can't see anything (HDR disabled!).
Not just in the new sites. It's a general problem in Eve on Tranquility also.

This problem has been around for years. It doesn't seem to matter what sort of system I have, it always lags things up like mad. If CCP don't have time to fix them, they should be removed until a smoother version is created.

This has been a problem for years. We've TOLD them it is a problem for years. Every time they try to fix it, they generally just make things worse, and then completely ignore the threads afterwards in true CCP fashion. Then they go and add them in the new content, too. CCP, this is unacceptable.

I've been complaining about this since I started playing in 2007.

I recall Torfi saying they'd fix it a few years ago, and promises to "look into it" at Fanfest.

Anyone who has run more than 5 missions, complexes, or explo sites would know about this issue.

I do not understand what the problem is - just take the goddamned things out of the game until you've figured out a way to do layered alpha objects that don't cause 75% framedrops. I know CCP has other cloud effects that don't drop FPS, so get to it!

I don't know what kind of level editor CCP are using, but maybe they should add a 'resource' value to objects so they can evaluate how heavy a level is on the computer and limit the maximum load they put on every deadspace?

Your level designers do have a editor, do they? I hope to god they have.

Makes me wonder aswell if CCP has the right tool set for optimization. It should be an easy thing to figure out when designing a mission/dungeon. It's not like "levels" in Eve are full of hundreds of objects and whatnot compared to other games. I think the issue is caused by overdraw. Source engine for example has a cvar that visualizes overlapping alpha geometry which causes fillrate issues. See here (the brighter the red the more expensive to render):

GTX 560 here, everything runs on max all the time in a stable 60FPS but whenever I encounter some dense cloud (missions) it goes to 30 or 20 while zoomed in. I tried HDR off and shader on Low but nothing really helps with that. It would be nice to have these effects there, but I really vote for an optimization or some sort of advice how to tweak the Graphics option to avoid these drops.

It is no longer a "Feature" when no one wants its anymore.. Just get rid of it and the problem will go away, instead of more pages poping up asking for the same thing..

Is it technically possible to automatically remove all cloud objects from all existing dungeons, or this is only possible to do manually?
If this can't be done automatically and require huge investment of dev hours, is there any vague ETA for at least some sort of other solution?

Currently this is most obvious technical problem in EVE that creates overall feel of unfinished and unoptimized product.
Will it help to get close attention if every single affected person send bugreport for every dungeon with cloud? Because it looks like any other options just laying problem on the shelf until next development cycle (and another thread like this).
So far all feedback about this issue was patient and relatively constructive, but do we really need to turn into raging crowd to get real CCP attention (not "we look what can be done, no eta" but "send full team and get it done till winter")? What?

There are time when they look really nice. there are times when they keep me from being able to see anything useful

Rather then remove them all from everywhere id like to be able to disable them as a toggle.

Much like people have been asking for several years. and by several i mean more then 6.

Its not possible to please all the people all the time, but it sure as hell is possible to Displease all the people, most of the time.

Well i have really decent fps rate on my pc/laptop, but sometimes on warping in to site with clouds in it
I have to zoom out really far or else i get like 10 fps which is really annoying..
I dont know why does it pull so hard on gpu..
My laptop has 5470, and my pc has ati 5770x3 on 3x21in screens and it drops frames on unplayable level.
EDIT:
