Mining Drone Hotkeys?

More hotkeys! Less mouse clickelings! If it buys me half a second every time its well worth it.

If CCP want to save the poor mice, then sure put a hot key assignable for mine repeatedly.

AFTER

They sort out the click-fest that is INVENTION ShockedWhat?Shocked, you know, the process that created the bpc which almost certainly created your Mining Drone II (some will be built off BPO's but most will probably be off Invented BPC's)

If you haven't tried invention then you don't know what clicking is all about.

Right Click Blueprint - Choose 'Invention'
Left Click 'Pick Installation' Button
Left Click Installation you want to use
Double Left Click on the Assembly Line
Left Click the 'OK' button
Left Click the 'Accept Quote' button

And that is as simple as invention gets, a total of 7 clicks for every invention run. Not taking into account if you're using Base Items, Decryptors, or need to select the Output Type.

So it could be 10 clicks for every invention run, multiply that by the number of runs you're doing per character (normally 10) and you've got a minimum of 70 clicks, upto 100 clicks, now multiply that by a few chars everytime I feel like doing some invention I'm talking about 350 - 400 clicks, all in a fairly rapid succession not every so often like you may need to prod a button for Mine Repeatedly.

That isn't taking into account copying the BPO's, which isn't as bad, but still clicking.

Just thought I'd put things into a little perspective Lol

PS - then you need to deliver the items, and every run requires an input, either a click of an OK box, or a hit the enter which does the same thing. And then you get roughly 50% success rate so half that effort is for nothing Cool

Keybinds for "tricky" operations are the botter's friend.

Don't mean to derail the mining drones hot key discussion, but there are a ton of quick key (not hot keys) options with invention.

For example you can do the following:

1) right click BPC, click invention.
2) click TAB then enter.
3) click lab, double click open slot
4) Hit Tab, Enter Enter.
And the job is now installed.

So with most invention jobs you can get it down to 4 clicks. You can get it down to just the first 2 clicks if with number 3) you instead do tab tab tab tab down key and then tab down key to select the slot. Or 3 clicks if you choose the lab and then hit tab down key.

Oh, and finally you can select all items and hit deliver, which will deliver all finished jobs, you just need to mash the enter key for each of the windows.

yes let's not make any one's life easier, just because it helps a small subset of players who can be removed from the game via bans.

yeah makes sense to keep your game tedious and clunky just because a few players have bots.

Also: I agree, ALL of industry is tediously clicky. Perhaps dangerously so. When we're finished with the War on Loading Bars, can we have a War on Carpal Tunnel?

Salvage drones respond to the 'all drones - attack' hotkey (f by default), they simply interpret the same command as Salvage repeatedly. Why can't mining drones just have this same functionality? Just change the hotkey description to something like 'drones engage' or 'drones go play' or some jank.

ccp devs being lazy. this hot key topic has been posted many many many times over the years, ccp just doesnt want to get off the lazy asses and spend a half hour coding it in.
