I tried to login to sisi today to check my skill queue but the launcher was totally broken and the login button on the launcher wouldn't work at all so i decided to try launching from an exefile.exe shortcut i made and this started a cmd.exe window that displayed the eve client's startup routine.

The client works otherwise but this odd behavior only started happening with Odyssey for me on the test server recently. It cant be my own computer since this would definitely be a software behavior issue.

EDIT: I also previously reported about this issue here several weeks ago but couldn't reproduce the problem. this time I got pics.

Looks harmless to me. That debug output normally only shows if you launch EVE via a command window. The question here is why is it opening a command window by itself? Maybe this is new behavior added recently, or it's something to do with your shortcut/settings that causes Windows to open it in a shell rather than as a normal program.

I think we'll need to see what a dev says about this. Have you tried looking at the "Compatibility" tab on the shortcut to check none of the options are set? (and check the same things one on the exefile.exe). You could try re-creating the shortcut too.

I admit this is a harmless issue and definitely have all compatibility options disabled and I'm aware of what they do.

The problem with this is that because of how process threading works if you close the cmd.exe window that should never be there in the first place this by design is like hitting alt+f4 in your running eve client.

add /noconsole to your shortcut to suppress the cmd window.

that suggestion worked assuming the console appearing is 100% reproducible which it hadn't been previously. regardless thanks for the suggestion.

Used to always show up without the switch when you launched from exefile, they fixed that awhile ago, they must have accidentally un-fixed it for this patch.

Confirming this. The dosbox popping up is a very old feature. It's entirely harmless and also very much educational.

Sable's Ammo Shop at Alentene V - Moon 4 - Duvolle Labs Factory. Hybrid charges, Projectile ammo, Missiles, Drones, Ships, Need'em? We have'em, at affordable prices. Pop in at our Ammo Shop in sunny Alentene.
