For those wishing to know, my job title is EVE Community Representative.

I encourage the CSM to find whatever manner of communication is most effective for them. They can incorporate lessons from previous CSM's as they see fit, and I endeavor to assist them in any way I can; but I, as a person who is an internal actor within the office, do not presume to know the most effective method for an external delegate to communicate with CCP, and I believe that such hubris would be at best foolish, and at worst harmful.

I don;t want to detract from the CSM too much but it's pretty much what has happened in other years where certain members has an actual passion for doing the CSM job, whereas other run for other political reasons and when it actually comes to contributing they go quiet.

Hopefully i'm wrong and all of the members will participate

Obviously I wouldn't expect someone to spend their holidays on skype talking internet spaceships but they did chose to run for CSM and taking half an hour or so to sign the NDA and say "Hi" and "Thank you" would be appreciated.

"Appreciated"? I wouldn't expect a person to do a single minute of *PAID* work on a holiday, let alone unpaid work. Expecting anything more than that is straight up ridiculous.

Besides, the only reason you'd want someone to sign a NDA asap is so they can start participating. If he's on vacation, he won't be participating anyway so vOv.

You don't expect people to do unpaid work while on holiday yet you probably play EVE and participate in stuff like PoS bashes on the weekends. Roll

Lets be honest here. CSM members should be curious enough about what's happening in EVE, what's happening with Odyssey and what's happening with the people that voted for them, what's on the CSM forums to be able to spend 30 minutes to check it out.

He's on vacation and traveling. Any expectations you have of him that go beyond "I hope he's having fun" are entirely misplaced and should be ignored hth.

Perhaps CCP should implement a time schedule to sign the NDA or be subjected to a forfeiture of your seat on the CSM policy.

Besides I trust no one who gets a month vacation to travel ... lol. Just joking about the vacation don't flame me.

It will be less beneficial to all of us who play EVE if a CSM member or two have completely missed the transition period, the candidates should have made personal plans to accommodate serving on the CSM and not just winning a seat.
