Several of us are still having a severe client lockup issue when opening the Map, dating back to Retribution 1.0. Seems to be related to OpenGL on Nvidia graphics chips. Does not seem to matter what graphics settings are used.

This is a surprise, a 1.5 year old mac bug that canceled all actions in space whenever someone docked is fixed. Didnt take long. Now mac players can even play docking games.

I have had an issue since 1.0, however I still have this issue in 1.1. It causes a client lock up and causes the entire computer to crash, I have to turn my computer off then back on.

The first post on that thread i linked shows the problem I am encountering.

It is causing problems not just for me but other people.

After the last patch my mouse quits working after a few minutes. Has anyone else experienced this?

Any news? I haven't been able to play at all since the patch. I'm about to be forced to just cancel my account.

Do they not ever update the full game download to the latest client? That would solve my patching problems.

The main EVE client still always tells me that it is damaged and should be moved to the trash. Since I can only launch the game with the EVE client in the resources folder, that does not allow me to patch. The game tells me that the patch was downloaded and will need to be restarted over and over. There is no way that I can play.

I had the same problem. I looked for the eve file in the programms folder and started the client from there and suddenly it worked

I just run the launcher and let it do the update. It works every time. If your launcher is not working, trash it and download a new copy. Remember to trash the eve online folder in the Application Support folder. Stuff can get messed up in there that stops the launcher from working, even a newly downloaded copy.

(Whats happening is a new copy of eve will create the folder in Application Support if it does not exist, but will use the old one if it does exist. The result is if that is what is corrupt, even a new download will not solve the issue. You got to trash that folder.)

Still doesn't work. I deleted EVE and the Application Support folder and re-installed. When I try to launch the game I get the same old "EVE Online.app is damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to the Trash."

And as usual, I can then launch the game through the resources folder but then I get stuck not being able to update. I also still can't manually apply the patch due to the main eve online.app being damaged.

Any other ideas or is it just impossible for me to play on my mac?

Have you tried the repair tool?

https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1368900

Also I have never had a clean install fail. There may be something wrong with your hardware, or a corrupted file in the OS. Maybe you need to get it looked at.

When I try to run the repair tool I get a similar "EVE Online Repair.app is damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to the trash."

Very strange. I had EVE running on this same Mac a few months ago just fine. I uninstalled when I couldn't play. Now when I finally decided to start playing, the new install would only run through the sources folder. Of course now I have the patch problem. There must have been some other sort of remaining corrupt file that I need to wipe clean somewhere.

All other apps, games, programs run perfectly fine on this Mac.

I'm also getting issues, I was able to play fine yesterday on my mac, but when I tried to log on today the launcher opens then when I click play the client crashes immediately. I have spent the past 2 hours trying to fix it... but nothing works. Its strange that it would work fine one day and then not work the next.

Is it OK to give positive feedback? Maybe it's a bit weird...

I played eveonline about two years or more ago on a Mac. It really did suck. I think perhaps the Devs weren't able to spend much time on fixing issues for Mac.

Anyway I thought I'd take a punt and try again. It's a sweet smooth ride now. I like it. Mind you I haven't seen any major battles.

But thanks for everything I'm not aware you've done to improve performance for Mac users. I'll be playing for a while now.

Still hadn't been able to play since making my initial post in this thread. It has been a few months. Just got billed for the new month and was upset I didn't cancel since I can't play. Thought I'd give it one more shot.

Uninstalled everything and re-downloaded the client once again, hoping that it now included the latest update. After extracting and installing I got the usual when trying to play: "eve online is damaged and should be moved to the trash". Ugh.

So I once again opened the launcher and went into the resources folder and launched the game from that selection. Turns out, the new game image now includes the latest update. I can now finally play until the next patch comes out then I'll be back to not being able to play for a few months until the image is updated.

Why can't the game work like it is supposed to on the mac for me? Why does it constantly say "damaged and needs to be moved to trash" if I try to play as normal? Going through all these workarounds is a hassle.

OSX 10.8.3, Mac Pro 2008 8 core, ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024 MB, 8 GB RAM.

Constantly freezing when in hangar. Too afraid to undock. Clearing cache etc does nothing. It is now literally unplayable. Usually switch to another window and when I come back 5 minutes later, it is frozen.

AMD Radeon HD 6750M 512 MB

After latest patch game will run find for a week. It will then randomly decide to not launch, instead getting stuck at a black screen until I completely wipe the install and associated files form my harddrive and reinstall until the cycle begins again. I'm on my sixth reinstall as we speak.

EDIT: I've also ran the repair tool and tried clearing my cache from the library. Still have the same issue.

Arg! New update. Now I can't play again. Well I got to play for about 2-3 weeks this time. I heard news of a new Mac update. I hope I can finally play like normal soon. As of now, I can't play at all again until the install file is updated to the latest patch and I re-download the whole game.

This is a relatively minor (and quite entertaining) issue, but: is anyone else experiencing wild glitches with the CQ and character creation/customization? I have three accounts, two running clones made by EVE Clonemaker, and when I created a second toon on one of the cloned clients the CC worked fine, but the toon went all psychedelic in the CQ. I created a third toon on the account, and not only did he go psychedelic in the CQ, I also got a painfully bright green background in the character creator, and bright green sidebars in the portrait studio, and then the avatar went psychedelic in the CQ. On top of that, the portrait on that third toon simply will not propagate to EVE Gate or anything accessible to the API, although it shows up in game.

When I decided to make another portrait to try to "goose" the API into picking it up, the portrait studio started to really act weird, and it showed him as a flat black silhouette. That's now his portrait, and it still isn't getting picked up by the API. More than 24 hours have passed, and no other character I've made has had its portrait hidden for so long. It's always been visible in game, though.

I filed a bug, with screenshots, but it's hard to describe reproducible steps when the game is behaving this erratically.

Since then, the bright green background appears when I view another character model in game on the main character for that account. So the bug is propagating to other toons on the account.

The client freezes on me after about 5 - 10 minutes. Never used to happen until Odyssey.
You stop being able to move the mouse at all.
The only way to exit is to force quit it.

Is there a bug causing automatic look at on selecting a target? I am starting to feel seasick as my main srceen won't stay still. It is also very jerky as the camera keeps recalculating everything. I can't find any option in the escape menu to stop this... It only happened after the patch, nothing like it before.

Saw an earlier post about the mouse issue...it is completely debilitating my play experience.

It is as if the mouse location is not registering with the game, nor are the clicks being registered properly.
