Four fps at 5% gpu usage is just not playable.

Right now 3,5 , but I expect it to go to 4 once I get to know all the new stuff and CCP fixes all the minor issues.

For new players 4 (intuitive training missions, easy to begin)
casual gamer 3 (nice features, fancy graphics)
solo players only gain is the graphic I guess...so 2,5
Multiboxer 1,5 (laggy animations...maybe will improve)

Me: had no time to test the new cane yet...

  • so far I found scanning boring and to easy...you are finished with a average low sec system in under 5 minutes.
  • The scanner is a fancy thing and it is ok because you can turn it basicly off....except for session changes where it can cause lag when in a bigger fleet I guess.
  • some mean armageddon fits in eft....this is going to be fun
  • undock button actually a good feature...two or three sessions and everyone is used to it. easier to abort undocking=good thing
  • to be cont.

Personal comment: 'if it is not broken, perhaps think a bit about fixing it :('

Graphic improvements: or 'treatise on how to induce sea sickness in space...' (2, would be 4 if we had some control over it)
- generally thumbs up, but please please please (please) make gate effects and that horrible scanner pulse optional; my scanner seems to be crazy and displays that effect every 5 sec no matter what I do, not nice
- also why move blood undock button? sure, it is great way to induce nerd rage in random people, but cmon, really... sends me into clicking confusion each time I attempt to undock Shocked

Exploration changes: or 'competition on making ugly unintuitive gui' (2, don't really see how to fix problems here :( )
- now we have new exploration; it works same as old one with uglier gui, less features, less control over what I want to do, more annoyances and more graphical glitches; cmon, how can you call it improvement?
- thumbs up for new modules - at least something for poor bastards who trained those skills to V
- also where are our 'amazing visuals, great exploration experience, new sites and stuff?'
- also, do you really thing I want to see those 40 anoms in my space? not to mention some weird graphical quirks
- also, why I can no longer ignore single anom? not like I want those bloody ore sites on my scanning interface (and you know... someone might want to see combat sites are not ore sites, especially if searching for sleepers in wh)

Radial menus: or 'now i need more clicks for same effect'; again, great way for inducing nerd rage in random people who click their directional scanner and instead get some ugly small menu (1, just take it out, please...)

Rebalancing: still sceptical if battleship changes are step back or step forward; also are you sure that -resistance on poor drake (and most other effected ships) is needed? otherwise fine; great, new and cool? nah, but at least ok (3, time will tell, 3 for no ogb changes - imo far more needed then -5% on battleship no one uses hp)

Minerals, ice and stuff: not involved enough in it to comment, so i will rate it ok (3.5, neutral)

Final verdict: 2/5 ('generally poor job', with possible improvement to (2.5) 'meh, another expansion' or even (3) 'ok, I can see something being done' with significant iteration):
- most of gui changes are step back - they display less information while using more space, provide unnecessary graphical clutter, are quirky and could really use 'toggle off button' or at least 'use old variant' button
- exploration changes are well... one word: annoying; if expansion development results in making something annoying, one should ask himself what he was doing
- rebalancing: let's face it - nothing really important was changed and important stuff was pushed back to 'some other time'; altogether decent job, but if some rebalancing is only point of expansion, it is called 'balance patch', right? :)
- industry: might actually be high point of this expansion, so thumbs up here; however same problem - serious things were not touched (our refineries are still useless, out poses are still 10 years outdated, there is still no reason to produce anything or gather resources in anything but high-sec, more then few broken mechanics are still here...)

I'll get over the undock button and as cool as it is the jump sequence gives me a headache.
Exploration is awesome, don't understand everyone's gripe with anoms, one scan and you had them in the list anyway, not like you don't still need to scan them down now.
Skill changes probably better in the long run didn't really affect me much.
Nerfs are nerfs, it happens.
New navys are great.
Radial tool I'll have to use more to get the hang of it, not happy with the ranges on it though.

1 and I haven't even finished the patch! still reading the patch notes, got to this part " Strategic Cruisers have been removed from the list of ships allowed to enter 3/10 and 4/10 complexes." and said to myself ......

I've been playing EvE on and off since 2006, but nothing and I mean nothing pisses me off more than not being able to run DED high sec sites in my Tengu

I'll stick around for a few and see if CCP comes to their senses, if not, well then it's beed a good run and I'll be moving on

Would have love to try out all the new exploration stuff last night.

I couldn't get into Jita to buy the new scanning modules or a navy BC so I logged out of disappointment.

Not today spaghetti.

5/5 good work ccp team, rebalancing ships and tracking enhancer "debuff" may just fix the 99% go to ship minmatar problem

I am quite certain this was a strategic move that backfired. Notice how now that the aforementioned thread got canned, the disappointment and rage over the actual expansion has kicked up a notch or five?

Honestly, the only really nice thing about this one has been the ship rebalance work and new BCs. That stuff is also more 'Retribution 1.5222552' and less Odyssey anyway.

Basically, +1 to Fozzie and Rise...the rest of you should hang your wobbly heads in shame.

I will give it a 5.5

The gate animations are cool, but they do cause a bit more lag while multi boxing.. and incoming gate fire is no longer there, which will make it harder during fleets engagements on gates.

The Scanner is nice IF you are doing exploration. If you are not doing exploration then its 100% useless and is only in the way and another lag inducer.

The undock button's new location and the new undock sequence are okay. I will get used to it.


This is yet another patch/expansion where CCP has taken the mindset of "If it aint broke, let's break it"

I haven't played with the ships enough to really judge the rebalancing or new faction ships.

No PoS changes that were promised.

Scanning overlay is bugged. Some ships show all the anoms, but when ship changed, no longer does. No combat ship showed the anoms in the probe window.

Scanning used to be fun, now probe center around what you want to scan without any effort...one click win..
