Any Other Explorers Finding New Sites To Be Much Less Profitable?

Or am I just having a bad day? Normally with the amount of exploration I've done today in losec I would probably net around 60-80 million isk, but today I've only made about 20 million estimated. I'm finding an awful lot of terrible junk in the cans and I'm not sure whether or not this correlates to the new changes or if I'm just having a long steak of terrible luck. Anybody else have thoughts on the quality of their new exploration loot hauls?

I can confirm that.

I did 12 sites in lowsec and got around 7mil and a truckload of crap. Pathetic. I was wondering if it was just a case of bad luck but apparently it wasn't.
It also takes longer to do the sites, so I can't do as many as before. Another hit to my profit.

And don't get my started on that abysmal loot scattering mechanic.

yeah, it pays less but provides more, as in worthless stuffs for npc buy orders.

Also new mechanic has more click not less, they just changed the order of where and when.

As for drops, null probably is getting extreme goodies, low more than moderate and high, meh!, hopefully they will look at balance, but as every dog and its bone are exploring high atm it will take a while, probably until 50% of people trying it give up as sites are exhausted in high, then they wont change it, but maybe adjust low and null.

I do wonder about things like skill books dropping in abundance, is the removal of Rigging Skill Books from NPC sell orders going to happen as within a few months the supplies from relic sites will be far more than enough to fill demand.

But like the removal of lost and dying probes it makes you wonder how deep the thinking into these changes really are!.

already dead, just haven´t fallen over yet....

I did some sites in low sec aswell and most of the stuff i got was worthless commodity items that just got instantly trashed. I'd say that on average about 80% of the cans i pulled in had worthless items like carbon and metal scraps. Finishing sites also takes way longer and minigame became boring clickfest after two tries. It is propably better to just camp the sites and take the stuff from ppl that come to do them :).

Just a protip.
Fit a Cargo Scanner and scan each can before hacking it. Scanning will show any non-NPC commodity that is in those cans, aka the non worthless crap.

Then

Data Sites:
Data Cans=BPCs, Skillbooks
Parts=Decryptors, Datacores
Ignore the other cans(unless you REALLY like those bulky parts those are in Equipment Cans).

I never got finished mapping Relic sites so just figure out which contains what type of salvage and cherry pick.

So this will be for low-null then, because proffit from highsec ones is a joke.
That means i can't be a solitary explorer who like to explore, to solve those riddles. I'll need to join a fuggen corp for that, and waste my time on CTA/PvP with them, to literally live in game for hours...
Yet another reason to leave Highsec... I mean, going to RL and other games.

in 2007 i've thought it's a sci-fi simulator, not an "e-sports" game. I'm not a teenager, how would i like it much?

That's interesting, I wasn't paying that close attention, but I thought I noticed different named cans spewing out. This could increase profitability and efficiency for sure. Some of the crap i picked up tonight took up alot of m3, I kept jetting stuff mid spam clicking so I could grab as much goodies as I could.

Material and parts cans contain the good stuff in relic sites. BPCs in there come from data cans too naturally. Also as it shows the icon on what you got above the cargo icon, you want to keep your eye on that. That way you know immediately when you got that drop you wanted, so you know to stop getting anymore of those type of cans.

Didn't end up using a cargo scanner on it, but I did notice that the cans with "Data" and "parts" had some good stuff, and only got pure crap from the other cans.

And crap it is. Data slates, Carbon, all of it worth under 1000 isk.

Cherrypicking has a whole new meaning now I guess.

Get a better corp then. Hint: If your corp has mandatory CTAs they are bad and you should look for another.

You don't need a corp. Get one buddy. Only one. Last time I checked Eve was labeled as an MMO-Sandbox, right?
This new exploration is the perfect buddy-activity. One is scanning, one is hacking. Both are clicking the scattered cans.

And it's a lot of fun flying together never knowing what you get, talking about who picks which can next, so you don't tractorbeam the same can at the same time.

Yeah with relic sites Material, Parts, and Equipment seemed to carry most of the loot, but never went through and mapped which type of item comes from which. Also I just keep the cargo screen up, since those little icons are hard to see at times. I would go through and map relics personally, but I have no intentions of dealing with exploration anymore, hence why I gave out that info.

I know, wtf is that all about? Thing gets hacked, then ***** itself spraying loot all over the place... I just don't understand what's the point of it. The mechanic seems extremely out of place.

Try doing it with a buddy, and I don't mean an alt. With a little practice, 2 people can get everything from a spewage without problems.

Me and a friend made about 100M an hour doing this in low/highsec running data and relic sites with just a pair of cheetahs.

Does railgun ammunition come in Hollow Point?

Yes.

Im thinking the mechanic is broken or that they didn't update the loot table like they said they would in the sisi feedback thread.

Several devs said they should be doubly as profitable for a team. And about as profitiable solo.

Its not even close.

Parts also contain salvage. My big score after 3 hours of scanning was a piece of tech 2 salvage worth 20 mil.

If you know how to work the system, like posted above, its the same profit solo or in a group.

I did only take data and parts containers, but they contained data sheets and electronic parts and other bad stuff.
Just bad luck, I hope.

I'll bring a cargo scanner next time. Maybe that will help.

I did maybe 8-10 sites yesterday, I didn't get much of value from the relic sites but the data sites I ended up with about 2 encryptors per site, worth about 6-10m. That was all in high-sec, figured I would get use to doing everything in high-sec first. That was better then what I was getting with the old system but I hadn't been doing it long enough with the old system to get a good idea of what values to expect, there seems to be a lot more sites then there were.
