New undock button....are you serious?

I have almost never used the station window as I can always get to what I needed with keyboard shortcuts or the neocom. As such, I basically always have it minimized. (I'd CLOSE it if it were even possible)

Now we are forced to open a window which has an ENORMOUS minimum-scaling size just for a button that you could have left a COPY of in the neocom anyway?

This design decision blows my mind.

Everything else in odyssey is awesome :)

No they are not kidding you. Some developer somewhere in organisation has not heard that there's long list of things this game needs fixed. So he went and find something that was perfectly fine and changed.

Personally as i have station services on the RH side it is on the wrong side of station info, both as a colour balance and direction of travel, it points away from the ship into the other, which would be the Captains Quarters, it also does not draw the eye to it being at the edge of the screen especially as we have been conditioned in the past to a central dialog box.

Does the maker/finaliser of the position used Station services on the LH side?.


But thinking about it, button layout is not a strong point with CCP, poor positioning seems to be becoming the norm, the log in screen stream button should be on same line as normal start not directly under for balance and space used.

already dead, just haven´t fallen over yet....

Something occurred to me while I was considering why they might have moved the button and what it means for the future.

If you are in hangar view, you have two buttons right beside each other;

Enter Space

Enter CQ

This is not a big deal until I thought, well at some point, in a rush or a drunken haze I KNOW Ill hit CQ by accident. At some point I will go into the bedroom instead of undocking.

This is a little silly.

However, if you had a reason to go into CQ (I hear some people do use it and it will be used at some point Im sure), you might hit the wrong button and accidently fall out of the station.

Having two doors, one marked "Toilet" and one market "Into Space" is not intelligent design.

And theres not even a hand-rail.

It's like Microsoft with IE 9; all of a sudden favourites are on the right side of the browser window... hard coded, can't be changed. Why? No one knows but someone somewhere thought that fiddling with stuff people have been used to for years should be changed, just because, without giving people options. In IE's case that right there is a big part why it's not getting any more foothold in browser land because IE itself is really nice.

Not going to happen here ofcourse as EVE has no competitors (I wish it did) but unnecessary forced changes are dumb.

Then why don't you create another keyboard shortcut but now for the undock button?

for now it's gonna have to be the keyboard shortcut but with the lack of a loading bar it's gonna feel clunky and with my patchy internet i won't know if i'm undocking or lagged out/disconnected

I used to laugh when noobs couldn't figure out how to undock.
Now I feel sorry.
