Please be civil, you.

I'm new to complexes, somewhat. Anyone know some links/videos/tips etc for the null sec plexes? I know how to scan them down, thats not a real issue. I just do not want to lose my overly expensive pixels inside the plex. My main questions are :

1. How does aggro work on the NPCs in a pocket? Do they focus on a single target or swap around like a POS/Sansha incursion?

2. What sort of DPS/E-WAR should I expect form a 8-10/10?

3. Is there a way to tell the difference from wormholes and plexes before your scan probes scan down accurately enough to tell you its a plex or a WH?

Help is appreciated.

They're regular NPCs (they were around long before WHs and Incursions

Have you tried googling the site to look at the info on it?

No

On 3 I believe Plexes only spawn within 4AU of a celestial while Wormholes can spawn anywhere within 8AU of a celestial. Could be wrong though.

1 - aggro mechanic are the same as in l4 missions, some are trigger based, some are proximity and some are upon entering.

2 - From an 8/10 you will be lucky to solo tank it in anything other than a hic / hac / t3. In 10/10's you need logi support which is often best in the form of a domi as you can use its drone bay for added dps. Dual domi setups are actually bloody good for plexes. Some people may claim to solo 10/10's in tengus', this may be possible, however it will take forever to do and cost a fortune in shiney mods. Ewar wise, they use the same ewar as the local pirate faction, so blood are neuts, gurista are ecm, sansha are tracking disrupter, etc.

Do not under estimate the dps needed to take out overseer structures. Google the plex your doing before you warp in. I must be in a good mood so i'll let you in on a secret, the ishtar is epic when it comes to running plexes solo. That includes mag and radar sites aswel.

3 - Drop a probe on 32au over the center of a celestrial in system, once you have every planet / gate covered, not one per celestrial just every one covered, hit scan. Unknown sites are combat plexes or wormholes. Ladar and Grav are for carebears. Mag sites are all mine. Radar are better then people will let on.

4 - Get an ishtar, fit a salvager and core launcher with sisters probes. Mids - 1 large cap battery, 1 cap recharger, 2 omnis, 1 10mn ab. Lows - 1 hardner of the damge type you'll need, 1 dcu, 1 med armor rep, faction if isk allows. Rigs - 2 sentry augs. Drone bay, 5 ogre 2's, 5 garde 2's, flight of hobs, flight of ecms. cargohold - 2 analyser, 2 codebreak, 1 salvager, 1 cloak.

Switch fit to run sites, when doing sites needing the mids, drop 1 omni and the cap recharger and always drop the probe launcher for a cloak. If you attempt to hack a can and then feel you need to leave the site for whatever reason (think red in system ) it will despawn when you go back. So cloak up when you see probes on scan and wait.

I've told you far too much good info now, good luck making isk. And when you can, get an A type med rep on the ishtar. you might also need to consider ts hardners if your fittings skills are bad.

dont forget, drugs are a god send if a plex gets too hard are your scrammed by rats. carry a strong exile and nanite paste. Its better than losing a ship.

Solo 4 Life.1v1 always honored, flying without booster alt since Oct 2010. No ransoms honored even if offered :)

Don't ask stupid questions or complain about drop rates/spawn rates and this might be possible.

They're just like in missions.

A lot.

No. Scan faster.

Final note: its exploration dude. Go explore, risk what you can afford to lose, and enjoy the EXPLORATION nature of it.

Ummm, I think you have stumbled into the wrong forums. Did you realise that you are actually posting in the EVE forums?

You *will* get trolled, laughed at, called names and made fun of, and not necessarily in that order. Most especially when in your subject title you ask for no trolling. That's like asking the pope to stop praying.

A word of advice....please don't complain when you do get trolled. That's like a swimmer complaining that he got wet.

Just like L4 missions. Look up the site for exact details.

I used a fully passive shield tanked Ishtar vs Serpentis. EFT says my tank is 1395 dps (tech 2 fit, tech 1 rigs, no fancy faction stuff) and there were times when I was teetering at 33% shields. Expect the ship tanking to have 0 cap so you need a crazy passive shield tank if going solo, or some RR.

No idea. Other people scanned them for me. I just tanked them.

If you are new to plex's but experienced at missioning, then a 10/10 is similar in terms of DPS and e-war as a L5...

.. but since the 10/10 is gated into various sections, each section has the same DPS and e-war as a L5.

Generally, that is what i have found. Some are worse (the maze), some are easier (outgrowth).

Always best to start as a DPS only ship... no tanker, no repper. Just DPS, and then you will get a good idea of what goes on :)

In terms of tank, the Ishtar is great for Gurristas/Serpentis tanking, the Loki is great for sansha/blood plex's, and i imagine a rattlesnake or a legion would be awesome at tanking angel plex's.

In terms of repping, i believe the best logi would be Guardians for armour, and basi for shields.

Nobody goes out wanting to lose expensive iskies.

However you have to be wiling to take the risk, until such a time you are not quite ready for those plexes. Sooner or later you will lose your ship (not necessarily to the plex itself)

Having said that - good luck.

(NB: They are just rats - like mission rats of the relevant pirate faction, there just happen to be a lot of them with a bad attitude at times)
