You know, I'm seeing enough complaints about motion sickness to think that it might be a real issue.

Me, I don't have a problem with it. But if others do.. hmm.

Nah it's people over reacting as per change protocol.

The jump animation is almost identical to the warp animation. (yet they don't complain about that)

If it's because of tracking camera, just turn it off.

Obviously it is an issue for so many people to complain about the same thing, and you are right it is like the warp which changed in inferno or crucible, I can't remember which one, but there was an option to reduce the warp effect.

For all the people saying htfu etc etc, remember you are playing the game where half the players had a virtual protest because they had to......walk their little man up the balcony to their ship. Roll

Yes, when I undocked earlier and headed to a warp gate, I started feeling really quite nauseous. Then when I arrived at the gate and found there were around 500 freighters all piled up trying to jump through it, I was physically sick all over my keyboard.

Eventually I got to jump into Jita, but while I was in the jump tunnel, I literally threw up my entire stomach onto my desk and simultaneously my colon and entire intestines shot out of the other end.

I need a massage.

I seriously think I'm going to make blinders for my computer and AP in a fast frig or shuttle or something.

My kids might think they are at an amusement park.

On a serious note, negative effects from a video game (illness, motion sickness, seizures, vertigo etc) is not a laughing matter. Sorry to hear about your misfortune.

Did you hit "C" to turn off the auto focus?

Yes, but, this is the important bit for people who keep saying this, IT DOESN'T AFFECT THE WARP CAMERA MOVEMENT.

I'm truly astounded. People deal with seriously horrible stuff everyday, and you're whining about an animation on a game. It's because of your type that peanuts have a label saying "may contain nuts" on them. Grow some balls.

Turning off the autofocus does stop the camera from doing a 180 and looking back at the gate you just used. So that will help. If that's not enough, then closing your eyes or at least looking away for the duration may be best.

You could also trying covering the screen with windows.

As a person who suffers from Motion sickness I under stand your problem.

I suggest you fill out a petition as well instead of just complaining on the forums.
Untill then I suggest you do one of the following things:

  • Make sure Auto-Focus is off (press C)
  • Look away or close your eyes when you jump trough a gate

I shut down all the graphics settings that I could to low but it won't go back to the way it was. Does anyone know how to shut this stuff off yet?

I think perhaps you should see a doctor.

Im leaning towards the "If normal warp doesnt make you sick neither should the new gate jump effect" simply because it makes sense.

People being people, complaning for the sake of complaining.

Also I laughed at your "problem" sorry, but its just funny to me if its actually true!

The scene from the Matrix when they zoomed in from a satellite view down to the top of a building with Neo standing on it used to make me feel like I was falling. It was pretty off-putting, but I got over it after watching it a few hundred times.

If people really are getting sick there should be an option to disable it, but the time it takes for the new system to load should not be any different.

The animation hurts my eyes. I mean I actually feel a pain when the animation starts. I have had arthritis in one eye and the animation seems to aggravate it.

Yay!
