Alot of people fly solo / in small gangs exclusively, me included. Arena PvP turns the dynamic PvP environment of Eve into a more static state. Your lazyness is not a reason to implement gamemechanics that are directly contradicting the underlying values of this game.

Bovine fecal matter.

PvP can go as usual outside of the League.

And IMHO blowing stuff for a thrill is as much a part of the "values" as anything else.

Ganking is part of PvP in this game. really, if you don't like it, and you want strictly consensual PvP, you'll be better served playing some other MMO.

That's New Eden with pirates, player run corporations with greedy and power-hungry CEOs and members, in dark, dystopian future. Consensual PvP really have no place here.

Consensual PvP, and feeling of constant danger of attack by pirates and hostile corp members is gone. Eve would be gone then, we'd have WoW with spaceships (though I know WoW pvp servers can be brutal, open world pvp is dead there, just because player can queue easily into BG for gear grinding).

So, while this is too a carebear game with mining and production, it isn't casual game, making it casual friendly would make it alarmingly similar to WoW and it's copies.

Thats a pretty ignorant claim. Considering how casual friendly EVE already is (Ex: You can solo play missions or mine casually, you can produce stuff and market play by yourself casually) that claim makes no sense.

The OP isnt saying 'Make all PVP Arena PVP', so you need to get that out of your head.

What OP is suggesting (in his own wild way) is to have arenas in addition to all the **** you can do in EVE already so that some people can jump on EVE between working, school, and taking care of/spending time with their families and have a few 1 v 1s/2v2s whatever before going back to real life.

This isnt hurting the nullsec roams, or factional warfare, or even hurting Red vs Blue. The Alliance Tournament will still go on.

The method the OP states may be a bit convoluted and beyond whats necessary - but having an Arena in each faction/entity space would provide lucrative opportunities.

I disagree, it's not convoluted; rather it's reasonably abuse-proof. Probably people would figure ways to abuse the mechanic, but the most blatant ones (jumping in, bringing in friends, building an uber-pwner, don't enter the arena, leave the arena, don't fight) have been dealt with in the OP.

The issue is that this can be done with any kind of arena instancing.

As for gaining ISK for PVP as a reward (and not through salvage/selling) I am not a huge fan of - asides from maybe small bounties associated with FW.

I think the mechanics of OP needs some refinement for purposing.

Not when that allready happpens on a large scale and when implementing a gamemechanic to promote more of that fundamentally challlenges long standing truisms of the game.

Arena instancing is intended to ensure a modicum of fun for everyone and not just for the first goon scanning and ganking the duelists. It's conceived for people who only got that much time to have fun and want to have fun, not te be had fun at.

Powergamer PvPs already have got all of nullsec to have fun becoming a prey for ganks and blobs. I think it's a very healthy ecosystem, riddle with antelopes hoping to meet alone or with a few friends a hundred lions ready to share some non-consensual fun.

The topic of this thread is to propose a variant of PvP which is more palatable to casuals and/or current carebears. Call it "PvP light" or such, in essence it would be.

The current situation is that there are people who don't do PvP, for whatever reasons. Trying to force them at gunpoint into lowsec or 0.0 or by making living in Highsec even worse won't help matters, they would just cancel their accounts because their approach on gaming has become unbearable/impossible.

Bumping it up as another player suggested a similar, albeit less sophisticated, feature in General Discussion:
