Hey, so I was looking for some assistance with planetary interaction. Lemme just jump to my questions.

I would like to make Enriched Uranium. I have 2 plasma planets nearby to use for the 2 p1 materials. Should I mine a different p1 from each planet? Or mine both the toxic and precious metals on each planet? Then once i have the two materials how do i process there after the p1s into the p2 enriched uranium? Do i need a 3rd planet? By the way my skills are pretty basic, maybe 2s and 3s in each of the planetary interaction skills. All help is appreciated... thanks!!!

I'm not an expert but I can offer some opinions.

A lot depends on where you are going to be doing the PI. In hisec, the planets don't produce nearly as much and the cost of import/export can be prohibitive. In this case I would place two extractors and balance your P1 and P2 so that you producing equal amounts of the P1 products to feed the number of P2 processors. That is what I do anyway in hisec.

In wormspace, my Corp owns the customs offices so tax isn't an issue and the quantities of product are much better. In that case I produce each P1 product on a different planet and then setup a factory only planet to produce the P2.

A lot will come down to how much you can fit on a command center. I strongly recommend that you train CC upgrades to IV then train to use as many planets as you can. PI can quickly become a chore so you want to get much as you can out of it with the least effort as possible.

4 planets

2 precious metals (they are in less abundance)
1 toxic metals (much more common and should keep up with the 2 precious if you use a lava?)
1 P2 factory planet to make the 2 into enriched uranium

Others can probably tell ya better but that's what I would do. It's not much work to just reset the P1s until you have enough to feed the factory. You can also put up long term, super cheap buy orders for the P1 and feed that into the factory in between your own cycles.

..should add find a place with a tax rate around 3-5% or the factory planet may hit your profits a lot. Do your numbers before you set up it may be better to just sell the P1 until you have a good place and better skills.

Produce Enriched Uranium on the same planet to dodge export costs, especially in hi-sec as was mentioned above. I know the feeling of PI being a chore as I have 8 characters each capable of 6 planets. Good times.

If you want to make it all ideally you set up on one planet, my suggestion would be to try to set up an extractor for heavy metals going into a storage facility that feeds 2 basic industrial facilities making toxic metals going back into the same storage facility, copy this setup for noble metals processing into precious metals and feed from the storage into a Advanced Industrial Facility making the enriched uranium, if you plan to check on this setup frequently feed this into a spaceport, or if you don't want to check often feed it into a 3rd storage facility connected to a spaceport. use the # of extractor heads to keep production equal. generally at full production a P2 commodity requires 4 basic facilities 2 of each, for every advanced facility. Your main problem is going to be having enough powergrid and cpu for everything to connect so try to find somewhere on the planet where the resources are close together.

Hey,

Not sure if you will have enough powergrid to use my settings with your current skills but if you want to make P2 on a single planet you will need to possible skill up to CC upgrade lvl3/4 (takes several days at best)

First dump the CC somewhere on the planet, doesn't matter where really.
Then find a spot on the planet where there is a decent concentration of both toxic and noble metal close enough (by close enough i mean the radius of a extractor head)

Once you picked the spot, place two extractor heads next to each other, then next to those two place a storage facility.
Next to the storage facility put 4 regular factories (2 for each P0->p1), then following the 4 factories, put 2 advanced factories which turn the p1 into p2 and finally that connects to a launch pad.

On each extractor you will have room for 3-5 heads depending on your skill and the size of the planet.

It should look something like this:
E->extractor
S->Storage facility
F->factory
A->Advanced factory
L->launchpad
- ->gaps to illustrate the structure

E---FF
--S-----AAL
E---FF

Each 2 factories (one for each material) connect to a different advance factory.

This is what i use in lowsec normally.. In highsec you might not get enough P0 per cycle to keep this working non stop, you can try using this slower/less efficient fit as well:
