CCP have already said that they are looking into ways to compensate. They are going to be doing something. It may or may not be skill points.

However the way the OP words it, it is entitlement. "I NEED 2 DAYS OF TIME ADDED TO MY SUB AND SKILL POINTS!" No you don't, but CCP may give you something.

If CCP could confirm that the OP was in fact going to miss all of the battlecruiser skills due to not finishing training cruiser 3 in time, I would wish to donate 50,000 SP from my unallocated pool to that person. From the bottom of my heart I mean this in all sincerity.

Tough shtaco, you should have planned ahead and not done it all at the last minute. The DDOS attack was not the fault of CCP so you need to suck it up and not be a crybaby.

Two of the defining characteristics of a carebear are wanting other players to play the way the carebear wants and whining on the forums for the game to change when they don't. Yet I see more threads on these forums from gankers than I do miners whining about wanting the game changed to suit them.

I for one and outraged at this injustice. I fully support your crusade for reimbursement, reward, compensation and sexual satisfaction from CCP. Don't listen to the haters my friend, your cause is just!

I can just about understand leaving Destroyers V until quite late, but it's not like Battlecruisers 5 was ever not the best thing to have anyway. A single ship skill that lets you fly 12 different (and mostly very good) ships is worth getting to V as early as possible on its own merits.

You can bet your sweet ass the moment EVE stops making profit and money it will only be a short time after that it gets shut down.
You will be left with nothing all the kissing ass and brown nosing would have done nothing (just like it's doing nothing now)
EVE is doing well now it isn't dying but everything does end be it 1 year or 20 years from now.
And if compensation helps to keep customers money rolling in you can bet they will do it.
And they are in fact coming up with compensation plans so I guess I win after all huh?

So what have we learned from the OP:


1.) Don't keep putting stuff back till the last minute (CCP said they were going to change the skills MONTHS ago).
2.) Don't be a ****ing whiner on the forum

Switched to training all the relevant skills to 5 almost immediately upon the announcement in the first half of last year. I can confirm I just "made it" with around nine months to spare on all of my characters including alts. Phew.

Also, I maintain an independent record of training queue finish times for my guys - I can confirm that not one minute of my training was lost, as I'd already injected Something V on all of my characters in anticipation of an inevitable screw up on somebody's part (mine or CCP) a few days in advance of patch day (and for post-patch day antics too).

Also again, I can confirm that I didn't lose a millisecond of PI time either as I took care of that on all relevant characters a comfortable few days before patch day.

By a remarkable twist of fate, undoubtedly nothing more that pure luck instead of actually prudent planning, this downtime only impacted my ability to log on and pew-pew-pew. Which was frustrating...but sometimes these things happen. Glad I plan ahead. Sorry, glad I'm nothing more than lucky I mean.
