Maybe op should get a refund from the character bazaar since his newly purchased toon was so badly thought out. Transfer it to me and I will deal with the legal technicalities for you, all you need to do is send me a couple of plexes in advance to cover court costs and I will get back everything you deserve.

It's possible that they don't even know. The bright yellow on a skill I haven't touched since queuing it is what caught my attention (doubt everyone enables that option to show incomplete skills that was paused). Just toggled the "highlight partially trained skills" setting, as I believe this is what you're referring to, and no yellow skills. I still have Electronics Upgrades V training from before the downtime. Not yellow. I also find it extremely hard to believe that no one else would have noticed it by now if it was affecting everyone. 4 hours is a pretty large discrepancy for a game full of OCD nerds to not notice (and I count myself in that group as well).

At least, you're basically conceding that the whole tape backup thing was just speculation from you.

I managed to get BC5 and destroyers 5 on all my characters that need it, along with the required levels of racial frigs and cruisers. And I also managed to inject command ships on all of them before those pre-reqs are changed. However I somehow overlooked the freighter change, so now my more hauler-centric character has 2 days left to finish minmatar industrial 5... not quite enough time left before Odyssey to inject freighters... before they change it so that he will also need to train Advanced Spaceship Command to 5. So lookie there... another 20 days of training until I can get into a freighter. So I feel your pain.

I might just not bother with freighters since the Orca works for most of my needs. And being required to train a rank 5 skill to lvl 5 that just makes my freighter align a little faster... meh...

My two T3 4/10 farmers just got surprise butttsexed by CCP also so I need to give in a train HACs because of Odyssey now too I suppose. Insert "Adapt or die", HTFU, etc...

They're on the bandwagon of "YOU'RE ENTITLED CRYBABY!!!", yet as an adult (I'm nearly 50 years-old) paying for a service you do expect to get what you're paying for...in EvE it's clock time. If the clock is stopped for tape restore/backup, then compensation is in order for lost clock time. It's not 500k, but a fair average rate (e.g., +3 implants with average attributes). Lost ships/assets are the risks folks sign up to play for EvE, which is a PvP game. This has nothing to do with who did/didn't load 36 day skills last week, as no one but the instigators would know if EvE was going to be DDoS attacked, and even so, a clock stop would've affected even them.

Antics like this maybe the reason more and more MMOs are more solo friendly now, as it's showing if you let the inmates run wild, they'll also run a game into the ground (there's no reason why EvE is sitting at 500k subs, but the community itself). One look here is a reason to doubt investing time and money in this franchise maybe not wise.

I'm a multigamer so can be "free" from the antics here (and find better company to post about games with...many games, not just one), if for anything for positive mental health. Ugh


Yeah I am 32 my self. The problem is the community you are 100% correct. EVE could well be over 1mil subs. It is nothing CCP did it's these players. I think the internet had given rise to a new phenomenon. Look at Samsung vs Apple , COD VS BF , Playstation vs Xbox. It is amazing the length these guys will go to defend their addiction I think EVE players are some of the worst of these kinds of people.
I do not remember this much rage when I used to talk about ford vs chevy or DC vs Marvel or star trek vs star wars.
But these guys are so filled with rage and anger that the moment you attack their game or what ever it is worse then religion vs atheism. SEE for me I play EVE I play everquest I play ultima online and I play WOW.
I drink what ever brand of beer available.
I am atheist and my good friends are christians.
I own A wii playstation and xbox I have COD and BF games.
I Own a samsung note 2 and ipad 4
I get to enjoy life while these people literally live for EVE. It is so ironic that they are calling me a crybaby and mad.
When you can clearly see I have given up on this post and have been trolling since page 2.
Yet the rage continues and these guys get so mad. I will get comped for the time I was offline CCP has said they will comp us,
For anyone that does not want to be comped perhaps we can petition CCP and get your comp forwarded to me.

Being compensated or being refunded? To me it is something that should be given back to players since we have no control of SP other than placing a skill book into queue. For this I do believe lost time or skill points should be "rightfully" given to players on paid accounts. Our skill books should be constantly training "EVEN DURING DOWN TIME."

For the record, there is no skill timer that keeps running; no script that keeps +1:ing your SP — there's just a skill starting and finishing time entry in the database, and if you go past the latter, your skill is done…

…so at most, someone has missed a skill queue switch-over.

Your thoughts when buying a new character:
"Oh wow, looks like I'm going to just be able to make it in time training for the skill changes. Better get BC 5 and Destroyers 5 first and then the frigates and cruisers."

My thoughts would have been:
"Oh wow, looks like I'm going to cut it pretty close. I guess there's always the possibility of something happening and me falling short, so I guess I'd better train all the frigates and cruisers first, then BC and Destroyers 5 to make sure at least some gets transferred into all the racial skills in the event that I somehow fall short."

This is complete BS. This is a new character I purchased I would have made the training within 10 hours of down time but now I am a almost 2 days without a que.

I think we should be comped for this 100,000 sp at least. Also I was going to spend the weekend earning the isk to plex my 3 accounts now one of them I will have to let expire until I make the ISK to pay for it again so that is at least an other day of missed training.
So on top of the SP I think everyone should get two days added to there sub times.



Don;t bother. CCP will ignore all the threads and delete the posts that are not "thank you " ones. I wonder how idiots they take us for to believe that the large majority of their users are the "please dont give me SPs, "please dont compensate me", type.

Back in the 80's there were some rumours about the communists workers who were so in awe with their leadership that they were giving back the salary that they were not spending. A version of the american;s movie line "please hurt me drill seargent" :)
