Perhaps a careful reading of that restaurant's EULA? No! They did it to make you a happy customer and a repeat diner.


All those words to still be wrong. We DESERVE nothing. We might get something but it will not be DESERVED. It will be a goodwill from CCP toward thier costomer. THere is a difference between the two. Thats why I am attacking this fail thread. We are in no place to demand anything.

I think no compensation just delay the expansion few days and extend the skill que to 7 days.

People have such a sense of entitlement. It's kind of disappointing, really. While yes we deserve some sort of compensation, unlike the debacle that was the newfangled launcher being released without any prior warning, the DDoS was out of CCP's hands entirely. What will need to be addressed is the subject of any ships lost due to the attack, as I heard of an incursion fleet collapsing after their logi got disconnected, followed by their Vindicators. In a case where wrecks would have despawned due to the amount of time elapsed, full reimbursement, including dropped modules, would probably be in order. The other problem lies within time constraints of courier contracts, which could have expired during the downtime. Those kinds of things will need to be reimbursed, and prorating our subscription a day or two wouldn't hurt CCP's wallet too badly. It's some other jackass denying OUR service from CCP, and as such CCP is as much a victim as us.

The other matter I'm interested in is the fact that things like RF timers continue ticking, regardless of any downtime. It appears most time-based functions on the server operate on a system of timestamps, where it checks the last timestamp and decrements it in accordance to the current server system clock.

The main point is, though, don't demonize CCP for something that was out of their hands. Without trying to sound like a fanboy, CCP has almost always delivered 110% on their customer service, and I'm sure they'll deliver once again.

This also wouldnt have been a problem if we could queue up more than 1 day in our skill queue, but because of the short queue I missed out of a full day

How is it free sp when skill queues were empty due to a vulnerability in the servers?

My main had a long skill queue but my new alt's queue was down for around 20-24 hours because of the login problems the night before - which were probably the attackers testing the server defenses. I went to bed with 16 hours left on the alt's queue and woke up with 4 hours left - the servers were down completely. No chance to login and set up queues for *two* days. New characters don't have as much of a chance to set up 2-day skills into the end of the queue, either, unlike my main.

I completely understand how badly this affected some people and think that it would have been a nice goodwill gesture to compensate those who were affected by the downtime just before a huge patch that will change skill prerequisites.

Careful that in demanding harsh treatment for potential criminal activity you don't punish honest customers who would really appreciate some nice treatment to make up for a terrible experience.
