o/

I've been having soms issues since i upgraded from my 2GB 660, to my 4GB 680, i just upgraded it today, and i'm running the lastest driver (320.18).

With my 2GB 660 i could run 10 clients perfectly at the lowest graphics. I switched out my GPUs and now i can barely run 1 client on TQ perfectly... i'm constantly getting FPS spikes where i didn't before.

Can anyone shed abit of light or assist me here?

From my limited knowledge of graphic cards..

Sometimes completely wiping your pc of display drivers and installing will fix issues.

Have you tried this ?

I hope it helps

If not good luck

Sadly i've already wiped all the old display drivers, and tried different drivers for the 680. i've only tried the new drivers though, so if it's because i need some old random driver for eve, i hope someone could shed some light on it for me. :)

I went back to the previous driver and it's working better. I also am using a 680. You could try that.

Which previous driver?
314.22?

Both cards should use the same driver files so no need to wipe. Just make sure you're running the latest drivers (although the very latest drivers got some color glitch with "High" shader settings in Eve). Running a GTX 680 for almost a year now and having zero issues otherwise.

That's the thing though, as i said i could run 10 clients on the same rig before, with the same in-game settings, but now i constantly get fps spikes, to the point where they're all running at around 1-15 fps and it spreads to the desktop aswell.

I'm using 40-50% of my CPU, 9GB of my 24GB of ram, and 50% of my GPU.
Nothing spikes out of the ordinary, so i do belive that it's a driver error with CCP.

Do you have MSI Afterburner , or something similar ?

Perhaps you can find a spike in the data it shows which correlates with your issues .

I've read some people pinpointing similar issues to voltage or wattage.

Is it possible that you have a program that has tinkered with voltage, or that the new card needs slightly more power than your PSU can provide ?

I have free time that doesn't include Eve, thanks for keeping me busy.

Let me know how things go, I am getting a 7970 Ghz 3GB card in a few days so the troubleshooting warm up is welcomed.

(Quick edit: Seems there is a popular audio driver conflict between your card and motherboard . May be worth looking into. Supposedly causes stuttering etc.)

The 680 i bought requires less power than my old 660 needed, since it was an overclocked version.
The only other thing i can really think of atm is that i'm running the game on a HDD, however it's impossible for me to try out if a SSD is better.

I understand what you mean... i'm still at office and now i'm crossing fingers, hoping i've no issue at home (where i've a more powerfull PC)! BECAUSE

with Office's PC - that is an ASRock B75M-ITXwith an i3-3225 (iGPU disabled), 2x4Gb RAM, SSD Samsung 830 128Gb, with nVidia GTX650Ti (no OC) - i was to able to run 2 clients Windowed 1366x768 with HDR on and all details settings to max level and V-Sync Enabled... 60fps was what i've Always got, CPU never went over 25% usage!

NOW with ODYSSEY I run only 1 client, docked in station with fixed view of ship what i get is 4.1 fps max, if i open chats, market, character Windows it goes to 2.5 fps! CPU usage is over 40% with 1 client. UNPLAYABLE

my OS is Windows 7 Professional 64bit
my nVidia driver are 314.22

all worked perfectly until Odyssey!
so if there is something wrong is with Odyssey.

I've more or less come to the conclusion that it's a limitation from the engine after this. Cheers.
