Pretty close. I figure I've lost about 93K SP. Not that I'm really worried about it. When you get right down to it, it's still just a day and a half. Not exactly earth-shattering, yanno?

Wow...

People just don't care anymore, and are starting to act like a herd.

What would be of CCP if everyone switched games.
If they worked an all nighter... well good for them, im sure they will be payed extra, everytime i work extra hours im payed, even more actually.

You guys say thank you and yet you were the ones that got screwed.

People who have a "life" can only play on their day off's, and for most of us is Sunday, hell, i havent played for long, but during the week im only able to play 1hour or so, if im not tired.
I payed almost 20 euros to play on four weekends, the first one wasnt that great because i had to go to work on saturday.
And sunday i wasnt able to play at all.

I feel sad for our society these days...

Your situation more-or-less matches mine. But you know what was going on whilst you were having a self-pity party? The folks at CCP were losing their weekend plans entirely whilst busting their collective backsides making damn sure we didn't *really* get screwed - by things like loss of personal data, financial information, or account information. They busted their humps around the clock making sure that they protected our trust against a deliberate and determined attack.

I can't see how they owe us any more than they gave. You want compensation? Find out who launched the attack, and apply to them.

This toon was not training,if CCP want to limit the skill queues time length then they need to be accountable for the empty queues. I am am more worried about the lost iskies, was the last day to run easy hubs, so thats easily 1 bil of lost isk :(

Really not fussed at all about "compensation". I could understand getting annoyed about it if you count the pennies and want that +1/30th of value out of your subs, or had just ejected from your Titan and have forgotten where you left it. Otherwise, bleh.

No need for SP whatsoever.

For the first time in several weeks or months some had free time to take a shower, clean up their place, fill that smelly empty fridge or do something else interesting for their life.

INDEMNITY

You shall defend, indemnify and hold harmless CCP and its affiliates, licensors and suppliers, and their respective employees, contractors, officers and directors, from any and all claims, loss, damages and demands, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of: (i) your use or misuse of the Software; (ii) your access to the System; (iii) any activities conducted through your Account (whether by you or another person); and (iv) your playing of the Game.

Seems like the more fitting parts today.

In short, they owe us nothing and if they ever compensate us for this downtime, it should be considered as a bonus and not something we rightfully deserve.

This doesn't make ANY sense. You're comparing yourself, the customer, letting your own skill queues stop as a result of your fault, to a company that is being paid to provide a service. The company failed in that regard. In the real world, when companies don't live up to their obligations, they often do things to compensate their customers. But the analogy with your sister is not applicable and totally irrelevant.

A better analogy would be if you were late boarding an airplane and the plane left without you. You would not be compensated, most likely. However, that is wholly different to the airline being unable to fly ALL the passengers somewhere for some reason. In the second case, you would of course be compensated for your troubles and missed flight.

Also, this is THEIR JOB. They are PAID TO DO THIS. They weren't volunteering or sacrificing their time to help out a friend. They get paid to make sure the servers function. There was a huge outage yesterday, yes caused by an outside agent, but nonetheless the employees at CCP know that they work for CCP doing what they do. They are experts at it. Any expert at any company knows that he or she will be called at some point to sacrifice their time for work (as late night overtime, weekend work, etc.). CCP is no different. Stop painting it out like they were doing some favor. Work != favors.

I'm sure you, being a lawyer, have never had a bad meal at a restaurant, contacted them, and received a free meal in its place. Did the company do that out of some fear of legal action? Perhaps a careful reading of that restaurant's EULA? No! They did it to make you a happy customer and a repeat diner.

My skill queue stopping isn't my fault - nor is it theirs. It was result of the combination of outside events, beyond my or their control. in what way should they be responsible for the acts of an outside third party? They did what they are contracted to do, ultimately - Provide the game based on their best efforts, and protect my personal data. In what way did they fail to do that?

Exactly.

Bussiness exist to make money. They do it by keeping their clients happy and using their service.
If i were CCP i would do as they are doing. It won't mess their income and it will motivate some of their clients, in this case the new players who were expecting to have an awsome weekend playing eve.
Now only next sunday :/

All those words to still be wrong. We DESERVE nothing. We might get something but it will not be DESERVED. It will be a goodwill from CCP toward thier costomer. THere is a difference between the two. Thats why I am attacking this fail thread. We are in no place to demand anything.

IMO each player should petition if they did loose SP and be given what CCP believe is fair . i lost a few hours of training so I am not to bothered. i am more concerned about finding out I have no life as a public holiday without eve turned out to be very painful. Yep, I need help Oops and yes I have friends and family, I just planned my weekend so I could have a day of eve.. thats really sad.. someone PLEASE!!!!! help me..
