I paid for 30 days of service, I would like 30 days of service. No SP necessary. Just what I paid for. +1 if you agree. Cry if you don't.

Your will be inserting all your coins one day, when you lose something valuable to you.

Nah. Having lost stuff already, I have understood corporation will follow thier own rules so you might as well read them and make sure you understand what is at stake all the time. In this case, game time in a MMO. Losing EVE for one day is srs bznss...

I bet you're the type that doesn't tip your cab driver either.

EDIT: Perhaps they should retroactively charge for 19+ updates.

EDIT2: If you want 'justice' we can count on your largest contribution to a fund to catch the criminals who initiated a ddos attack, right?

Call 911!! Someone has a booboo!!!

I'm afraid reality is a little bit different. Some things are simply beyond control, that's life.

Also, when we protest as a community, CCP is willing to comply. That's not very common for companies in today's world. The respectfull thing to do for us as a community is back CCP all the way in this, whatever happens.

An attack like this can have a few reasons. One is to try and steal money somehow and another is to destroy a company from its base and the community around it because of butthurt feelings. When CCP makes sure they can't get any payment details and steal money from us, we can also stand together and behind CCP on this making sure that stays as one too. It means the attackers will loose anyway, regardless what they have planned.

+ 1 huge middle finger towards the attacker.

My gut keeps nagging me that it is a corporate war funded thing.

example scenario: "Blizzard" pays N. Korea to initiate attack.

Here's a free tip for you; If you don't agree with the terms of service, don't start playing.
CCP does not guarantee 100% uptime. No MMO provider does.

Thought the EULA we all agree to when playing this game says service is not absolutely guaranteed at all times specifically to cover just what you are doing now?

edit: Yep, here it is - from http://community.eveonline.com/support/policies/eve-eula/

"NO WARRANTIES

The Software, System, Game and all Game Content, and all other services and material provided in connection therewith, are provided "AS IS," with all faults, and without warranty of any kind. You assume all risk of use and all risk associated with accessing the System and playing the Game.

CCP disclaims all warranties, whether express or implied, including without limitation the warranties of merchantability, fitness for particular purpose and non-infringement. There is no warranty against interference with your enjoyment of the Game. CCP does not warrant that the operation of the System or your access to the System, or that your use of the Software, will be uninterrupted or error-free, nor that the System or Software will be compatible with your hardware and software.

While CCP attempts to have the System available at most times, CCP does not guarantee that the System will always be available, or that the System will not become unavailable during Game play. The System may become unavailable for a number of reasons, including without limitation during the performance of maintenance to the System, for the implementation of new software, for emergency situations and due to equipment or telecommunications failures."

You realize this is a game...you don't have a 99.999% uptime SLA, stop fussing. The fact is the outage did happen and now all that is worth talking about is what CCP will do to compensate players.

Assuming you pay $14.99 USD for a month of game time, then this outage represents about 75¢ of game time. Are you really going to cry over less than a dollar? Would extending your playing time by that tiny amount really make it better? You would get the 30 days you paid for, but come on, that isn't going to make anyone happy!!

Giving skill points might not exactly be tit-for-tat, but it is a way CCP can give something to players that will actually make them feel better. Their goal is to keep us happy, but they can't change history.

This outage happened over a weekend, which is prime playing time, so I suspect CCP will be generous with the skill points...if that is the route they take. 400,000 free SP seems about right to me (about 1 week with typical implants and mapping).
