This is Monkey Trader, squadron leader of the 126th Special Operation Command Monkeys (SOCM)

Yeah well I just want to say that all the monkeys deserve some free SP eh ?

Well, I had a blast playing through all the old epic Command and Conquer games (in frikkin German !!! Because although I am not German, I am forced to download this game in German due to region code and all that crap). Yes, me an Expat, stuck in Germany! I had to listen the whole time the following:

"Infantry Bot reporting" and "Kill Nod Bots" and "Defend GDI Infantry Bot convoy" because back then in Germany, games were not allowed to have human beings in it if they were war games or something and all had to be replaced by robots, bots, cyborgs and all that stuff.

Anyway, I want at least 500 000 SP.
Thanks in advance

I'll contract that to you when next I log in. Don't read it too carefully. Just hit accept.

I don't want free Sp. my training time did not stop. at least i don't think it did? I never really checked.

What I am upset about is missing out on a full weekend of ICE mining, my last chance to stock up before ICE becomes scarce.

That can not be compensated by skill points. I lost a lot of isk this weekend. i would have had 2500-3000 more blocks of ICE in my hanger had this not happened.

I agree with Bugsy. I am disappointed about losing out on the mining. I am not looking for free anything. I am glad that the server is back up, and things are working again. It gave me a chance to get a few things done that I would not have done otherwise.

I hope CCP can punish the people involed with this though.

I planned to log in at 4:00pm GMT-0 Sunday to pause my skill training and inject electronic warfare drone interfacing. Fortunately I had repair drone operation 5 in the queue just as a fail safe in case anything bad happened (I always have my skill queue ending with a long skill). I suggest you start planning for the unexpected! Lol

I was the first site on a four site expedition (got an escalation off of an anomaly). Journal is empty now.

Can't say how much ISK I am out of on that one given that drops are random, but still could have been a decent sum.

Not upset and I really don't think they have to compensate us. Eve suffers catastrophic equipment failures like this very rarely. The track record across ten years has been very good.

I wouldn't mind them bumping my sub up by a day to make up for it, but I don't really care about SP since my queues never got dry.

I'm just glad that CCP was on-the-ball and stopped things before my account information got swiped.

Real-life situations - the death of my sister - combined with the attack meant that one of my accounts' training queues went dry. I don't care. Considering the big picture, it's small potatoes.

Tell someone you love them today, because life is short. But scream it at them in Esperanto, because life is also terrifying and confusing.

Yeah, I'm really not concerned. Don't take me wrong, I wouldn't be angry if they decide to hand out SP or something, but I'm not demanding it, or anything else. Stuff happens.

Deserve nothing.. lol

zzz

Some people do make unreasonable demands , but it is true - people are rushing on ICE because its heard it will become more rare.

People are running idle skill ques during downtime and so a repatriation of 100K SP is REASONABLE.

Ignore the tards but dont invalidate legitimate arguments on the subject.

any compensation would be a bad idea on ccps part. this was a attack by someone. and by giving compensation for this attack what would stop people from orchestrating a attack every time they feel they want free sp. just be glad ccp took the servers offline protected our personal information. and fixed the problem in a pretty timely manor.

Amazing how many people simply don't bother reading.......

03.06.2013 03:41
By CCP Spielmann

At 02:05 UTC June 2nd, CCP became aware of a significant and sustained distributed denial-of-service attack (DDoS) against the Tranquility cluster (which houses EVE Online and DUST 514) and web servers.

Our policy in such cases is to mobilize a taskforce of internal and external experts to evaluate the situation. At 03:07 UTC, that group concluded that our best course of action was to go completely offline while we put in place mitigation plans.

While we initially reopened EVE Online and DUST 514, at 14:51 UTC we became aware of additional information that led us to re-evaluate our decision. With the highest sense of precaution we took the decision to take Tranquility and associated websites back down for further investigation and an exhaustive scan of our entire infrastructure.

What we can now confirm is that a person was able to utilize a vulnerability in one of the back-end services that support the operation of the Tranquility server. This vulnerability has now been secured and thoroughly tested.

We would like to stress that at no time was customer data compromised or accessible in any way.

The effort of returning the complex server structure of the EVE Universe and associated websites to service in a methodical and highly-scrutinized fashion began hours ago and Tranquility has now been brought online (at 10:13 UTC). Our teams will monitor the situation carefully in the coming hours to ensure that our services are accessible and that all customer data remains secure.

We will be looking at ways to compensate players in both EVE and DUST for the outage and expect to announce what that compensation will be very soon.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of our players on EVE Online and DUST 514 for their patience and understanding during this unexpected downtime and the investigation. We are grateful for your support, as always.
