I still hold that Christopher Eccleston shot himself massively in the foot quitting after one season.

On the plus side, David Tenant is The Doctor as a consequence.

Old and new, I think he's the best and 30 years from now when they are considering restarting it again, he will be seen as the one to beat, just like Tom Baker was that of the last run.

Thats true but i still think he had a kind of crazyness that tenant could never pull off.

Then again i had a massive thing for Billy Piper too.

I've got her autograph around here somewhere, before Doctor Who she tried to be a pop star and in primary school she performed on stage. In retrospect a breakout pop star should probably not be trying win on sex appeal in primary schools....

So, the final incarnation of the doctor is coming up? What with the 'max 12 regenerations' thing?

Well, you have the already odd "stated" number of regenerations of The Master (plus how many times he's come back from the dead without a standard regeneration), then you have the whole River Song donating (up to 10? new) regenerations when she saved him in "Let's Kill Hitler", plus other oddities, so, meh, it wasn't really "just 12" since a while ago.
