So I got a question here. I have noticed from reading various threads people talk about different tiers of missions like T1 and T3. how do you know what level of mission you are doing? Also, when I start exploring like anomilies or complexes or whatever.....how do I know what level of enemy they are? Like I would hate to roll up to a T4 complex in an ibis. Of course that is an exageration but you get the idea.

First, please don't use T1 and T3 when referring to mission levels. It might confuse people.
It's a level 1 (or lvl 1) mission. T1 is used for Tech I ships and modules.

Second, the lvl of the mission depends only on the lvl of the agent that gave you the mission.
Be aware though, that missions of the same level can still vary a good deal in difficulty. For that, you can usually just look at the reward - the higher it is, the more dangerous the mission usually is. And then you can use sites like http://eve-survival.org/ to learn about the specific mission beforehand.

Finally, as a rule of thumb, lvl 1s are meant for Frigs, lvl 2s for Cruisers, lvl 3s for BC, lvl 4s for BS and lvl 5s for fleets.
(That's only a rule of thumb, depending on your skill and the specific mission, you might be able to use smaller ships too.)

Not sure , but I think that the OP may have been wondering about DED complexes...

For exploration there is also a webpage that lists the exploration sites and their difficulty http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Exploration Much of the information there is likely to be outdated in 3 downtimes with Odyssey's release but the ded site info should still be valid

I was wondering about both actually. And sorry about the whole "T2 vs L2" thing. I apologize and hang my head in shame.

But yeah...so it depends on the level of the agent. I haven't gotten there yet (I couldn't log on this weekend) but does it say somewhere in the mission description or something what the agent level is? I assume it does somewhere....I hope it does lol.

As for DED complexes and such.....my best bet would be to just use the guide yall mentioned? There isn't a way to tell what the level is by just looking at the ships coming after me or something? What about wormholes? They aren't always in the same place are they? Don't they spawn in different places? When you enter a wormhole, how can you tell what level of wormhole you are in?

When you are in a Wormhole you can google the system name (J100744 for example). You probably end up on a site named wormnav.com and find all the info about the wormhole there.

Example of a C1 (Class 1) wormhole.
http://www.wormnav.com/index.php?locus=J100744

If you want to learn more about wormholes I suggest you read the article linked below. It's the website from a corporation called Eve-University and their website is full of information about all aspects of Eve.
http://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Wormholes

The same for exploration sites. You are scanning the system and you find a Sansha Hideout. Google that name and you'll end up on sites like this: http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Sansha_Hideout
That website will give you info about what to expect in there.

Once you have done it a few times you will learn to bookmark all these resource website so you can navigate to them easily.

Oh and about missions, that is really easy. All you have to do is look at the agent who gave you the mission. If the agent is a level 1 agent, he will only hand out level 1 missions. As far as I know, it's not listed in the mission itself.

To the OP. Not sure if you haven't mixed a couple of terms/concepts together. One part of the Eve learning curve is the language and terminology.

1. Missions. Missions are classified as being levels 1 through 5. Level 1 is the easiest. Level 2 are more difficult and you will probably need a well fitted destroyer to or a cruiser. By the time you raise your standing enough to be offered Level 3 missions you won't be a new player any longer. The agent offering you a mission clearly identify if she is a level one agent and so on. As a new player you are expected to run level one missions.

1(a) Running missions for a particular agent increases your standing with that agent. Plus completing missions for the corporation where the agent is based, also increases your standing with that Corporation. While that is not particularly important early in the game. It affects your ability to perform actions later in the game.

2. Exploration. The whole exploration system is being modified come tomorrow. Suffice to say, that you can discover combat sites. Most of these sites are not rated and can be performed reasonably easily. Some sites are rated. DED 1-2 are roughly equal to Mission Level 1 or 2 in terms of difficulty. DED 3 missions are more difficult and should not be tried by a new player. Tomorrow with the deployment of the expansion, the "rats" in Mag and Radar sites are being replaced with a new mini game, where the player is required to actively "hack" or "analyze" the object

Here's one way to tell what class of wormhole it is before going in: http://www.tigerears.org/2011/04/24/wormhole-colours/

In the station it will tell you the level of the agent. A level II agent will only offer L2 missions etc. You can also find appropriate agents using the EVE menu > Business > Agent finder and adjusting the filters as needed.

As for complexes (the ones you find by exploration or in a couple of specific systems you can just warp to a beacon at) - in highsec, you can usually escape before engaging if you've gotten in out of your depth. If you see 20 frigates and 15 cruisers in a complex, don't engage in a destroyer.
